Vent free?

Why not something with a heat exchanger so you don’t suck fumes or an open burner?

Suburban and atwood are for sale all over ebay. get one of those and a thermostat. itll be around $600 shipped. 30k btu is plenty adequate. and yes install a fire alarm and co2/co detector so you dont die. jus cracking a vent doesnt sound very smart. happy trailering.

Sleeping in an enclosed trailer with a “catadyne” (vent free) type heater is never a good idea..!! Even with a vent cracked, the risk of asphyxiation is very high.
Forced air or a radiant type heater that has the exhaust vented outside is all that should be used for a unit you will be sleeping in.

I use 35,000 or 42,000 Btu furnaces with a solid Laser cut box. Exterior vented so they're safe for sleeping compartments.

You can buy complete kits and install them yourself for $2,850.00 for the 35,000 or $3,000.00 for the 42,000 BTU furnace.

My kits installed are $3,650.00 for the 35,000 BTU and $3,800.00 for the 42,000 BTU.

The kits have the following:

- 35,000 or 42,000 BTU Suburban furnaces installed in the Laser cut box ready to hang on your trailer wall.
- 2 x 30lb propane tanks (which are full if picked up - empty if shipped -$40).
- 2 x 30 lb propane rack.
- Auto switch over regulator with 12" hoses.
- Samlex 15amp 110 Volt to 12 Volt charger to maintain/charge batteries.
- Wall thermostat with 40' thermostat wire.
- 2 x Group 27 Deep Cycle batteries with battery boxes.

These are the same products that I have used for the past five years on my installs and work excellent!

Thanks!

Have any pics of the kits installed? Inside and out would be good if you got them?

I posted 4 of the first page of this thread but I will put some more up. I'm also your neighbor in Cardiff so you can swing by for a beer one day and I can go through a whole whack of installs! LOL

I also do a Kickplate install for those who are interested and larger 80,000 BTU 110 volt propane furnaces for those big heat applications.
