I wonder why he hasn't come back?

well, 6 posts in 3 yrs, guessing he doesn't check the forum that often for starters.......

I realize how many heros are on the internet forums but maybe instead of calling him down you guys could just ride with him and find out if he's bluffing or not. As a female in a male dominated sport, I'd like to think that you'd want people to give you the benefit of the doubt in terms of your riding ability, why not extend that courtesy as well until proven otherwise? How many of peeps are going to eat humble pie if this guy is as good as he says?

I do feel bad if we scared him off. That wasnt my intention. Mostly it started as a joke, but if he is half as good as he says he is, I would want to see pictures so I can back out :)

Also, different people have different perceptions of "advanced" so I was merely hinting at getting a better idea of what he thinks is advanced but tried to do so in a funny way.

And yes, I do ride McBride area. Am I advanced? Noooo.... Have I ridden with and kept up to advanced rider? .... Yes. So where does that fit me on his schedule.? Oh wait... Nevermind. He was looking for guys ;)

Lighten up.

I would imagine he is looking for people to ride with that he doesn't have to babysit and spend his day digging out. Myself? I don't know jack about sledding so I am out.

It is a shame that someone puts a genuine request on this site and people cannot control themselves and think they are funny. I think that good riders are easy to come by but great riders that challenge you and push you to be better is rare. I am one of those great riders and am not afraid to say so, I have been riding for 15 years as well and have rode with many groups of people that are not even in the same league nor have a passion for the sport but merely are on the hill to get away from their wives and go get drunk at night and sleep till noon and go home and brag about how great they are. This is not a statement about all sledders of coarse, I would say 20% are hardcore dedicated true snowmobiles, the rest are just bodies on a hill following the hiway all the way to the end and climb all the hills along the way. I am the rider described and my guys in our group are the same, we would love to find another person that craves the backcountry like we do so when we come out your way we will get in contact with you and put each other to the test. Thanks for starting a good thread, maybe it will end better although I think I will get some blasting from people for being a little to honest!

I used to ride with the "I go sledding to party and the riding is a bonus" group. I used to be one of those. But I grew up stopped drinking so much and enjoy riding much more now. It was was always fun but more so from the partying than the riding but some people just have different priorities. I would like to be in that 20% you speak of(I'm close I think) but I just can't get away to the hills as often as I like. I hope he finds some good people to ride with it makes a world of difference. It's too bad it took me getting injured and a fatality in our group in the same weekend to really wake me up. I almost stopped enjoying riding but I got rid of my tank of sled got a new one left the booze in the room and have no regrets now. Good post Catman10.
