Currently looking at a new diesel truck, I now have 2002 dodge diesel, 6 speen HO. I love this truck but I want a crew cab as baby seats don't fit well!

I have heard nothing good about the new ones with all this emmissions crap... chev's are too low for me IMOP... any advise? I saw a new GM with a leveling kit looked high enough... guy said he did 3 inches in the front and 1 in the back... said he only paid 500 at Kal Tire???

Can you get around the diesel emmission's garbage? Can you buy a dodge diesel not built in Mexico?

Thanks

Dodge has the least amount of emission junk as of right now. All the new trucks are pretty solid. Cummins being the most reliable engine. All the trucks now have nice Interiors ride better and have gobs of power out if the box. In stock form with no deletes and tuner don't expect much for fuel economy. But by doing the deletes and adding a tuner you risk playing with your warranty.

500 for a leveling kit maybe not a lift kit. Would be changing the torsion keys on a chev. What isnt built in Mexico anymore?

I have a 08 Dodge 3500. All stock. No issues or problems. Also I don't think the fuel mileage is all that bad. Taking to guys with chevs or fords the mileage is almost all the same. The space of a crew cab is great.

This is for sure going to be one of those mine is better than yours threads guaranteed but a quick Google search quickly returns Ford as the top selling pick up truck (again) at 519,639 for 2011 vs dodge 218,000 and Chevy's 367,xxx there has to be a reason for that as numbers never lie! The point of all that is IMHO and 519,639 other people think Ford is the most reliable! :)

Ford has better fleet deals which drives the fleet sales up affecting the overall sales numbers. I think there should be a consumer sales number vs. fleet sales.
LOL!!! This may ruffle feathers but it is true.

Of course its true if it was not for Ford fleet sales Dodge would out sell them 2 to 1 for the last 40 years! lol

OK, now the correct figures for sales in 2010.

Ford 507,215
Chev, GMC combined 499,929
Dodge 199,652

Kinda funny how the numbers change when you look at it accurately.

Actually its not funny your still in 2010 and its 2011 and my figures came from wall street journal.. and if you combine all GM trucks they are getting a little closer but if we didn't bail them out of bankruptcy I suppose they would have sold zero right!? Sorry didn't want to use the "B" word but you analyze it more accuratly it looks a little funny if ya ask me!

We?

You a yankee?

Getting a little closer? 2010 and 2011 they are within 1-2% when combined. Its so sad the Ford supporters have to slink into the split sales to make themselves feel a bit better. You have the figures for fleet compared to public sales? Your numbers fail miserably then.

Also pretty interesting that Chev/GMC growth in the market is a fair bit larger than Ford, another year and combined sales will be greater if the same pace is kept up.

No need to keep posting Ford trucks have outsold everything else for what 40 something years end of story nor did they need a bail out which leads me to believe they must make some kick ass products!

Let me guess, you have never driven a GM product, otherwise you most likely would have other opinions. You have shares in Petro Can? You must with the way Fords burn fuel.

I can live with poor MPG can you live with this looming overhead I couldn't, run out and buy a ford you'll feel good about it quote:
"US auto giant General Motors declared bankruptcy in the largest industrial failure in US history. The June 1, 2009 filing, ordered by the Obama administration, set into motion the destruction of tens of thousands of jobs, the shuttering of dozens of assembly and parts plants and the closing of more than 1,000 car dealerships"

all jokes aside have a cold one.. they all have good and bad just fords a little better :)

This truck hauls ass with trailers. 2 friends of mine bought 2011 dodges and wish they had more power. The new dodge can hardly spins the tires. But rides and drives like a dream. Nicer than my ford. They are all dual wheeled. If it's power you want is go ford or chev. Dodge claims to have the same power 400 hp. 800 tq. Theres Not a chance it will compare to the others without deletes and a chip

Well know fact, GM Corp sold more pickups in 2008 and 2009 than Ford Motor Company, to bad Ford owners have to hide behind a technicality.

Cummins released the 6.7 HO mid season with the 800 ft lbs. if its pre HO it will feel underpowered.
