One time I was selling an item on kijiji and a scum bag low baller made me an offer. I accepted his offer and and he came the next day to pick it up. As we are standing in my garage talking about it, I grabbed a sledge hammer and smashed the item right in front of him, I then said to the purchaser" there NOW the item is worth what you offered".

That was me you did that to you jackass!!!!! I wondered what kind of pr$ck would do that after they said they would part with it!

LOL J/K but that was funny you smashed it for him:d

i HAD a friend who basically lives off kijiji and for that reason we are no longer friends. i sat at his house too many times watching him lie his face off to honest people looking for a product. he makes good money at it so i dont know if he is in the wrong but i just personally feel wrong about it. he started with a dirtbike and he is now dealing high end corvettes and heavy equipment. he will lowball someone or trade an item and by means of wheeling and dealing comes out ahead every time and pawns off the newly aquired item to keep going up the ladder. i supose thats just good business but what bothers me is the stories and lies. he will pick up a snowmobile or a bike and just make up lies and stories about it to move it as quickly as possible. i drew the line with our friend ship when i seen his dirtbike listed on kijiji with a fresh top and bottom end. i happened to be at the kids house when he purchased it and he was told the motor and clutch were basically on the way out. he pawned it off on some poor kid and to me thats just wrong. he does this stuff daily and its that reason i dont take lowballs with any seriousness. basically what im getting at is some of these people are just flipping CRAP on kijiji and covering it up with a layer of makeup. brings a whole new meaning to buyer beware imo. i think what he does is a crime. one day it will come back at him and someone will be on his doorstep waiting to knock his head off i guarantee. /end rant

That is LOW.

I will say I have made some money buying something off someone who needed to sell and preyed on that getting a really good price. But I am unfront when I sell something. Money only made by finding a good deal and selling for a bit more, but i've been on the flip side and loosing just as much.

I don't know how you could rip someone off like that and sleep at night.

Now, I will admit I have traded in 2 vehicles now to dealerships with major problems and screwed them over bad. But in my opinion, they have experts to inspect the vehicles if they want so their own fault :d

I don't take anything on kijiji personally though. If someone lowballs I will just say no and say what I want, that's it. They might just be fishing for a great price and be a possible buyer you never know.

Lots of lowlifes on kijiji but a TON of good honest buyers.

But I am tempted sometimes to email people asking stupid prices some sarcastic comments :p

I've had some good luck with kijiji. Sold my old man's quad on there with relative ease. Guy called, came and looked at it, wrote us a check. We delivered it to him and he fed us a few beer:cool:

Then on the other hand I've had absolute dipchits lowball me so bad that I don't even bother wasting my time replying. Example, I had my streetbike for sale, asking $9200obo. Guy emails me and his opening line was "Your bike isn't in my price range". Okay... and this is my problem how? Then he goes on to tell me how his buddy bought the same bike with 3x the kms for less than what I want and then proceeds to offer me $5k... Get fawked:nono:

You know after reading all these I have come to a conclusion...If you guys would stop adding OBO then I bet you wouldnt get these dumb offers...

Look at Ebay...its based on a bid system, a lot of people on Kijiji see it the same. If you put OBO and I offer 50% of your asking price, AND its the BEST OFFER, by definition, I get it for that price...

Maybe write your ads better? Just my thoughts...

Good point...but...

You showed great urgency in the sale..'Buy em tonight' implies maybe you need money 'bad'...lowball offer just might work...

Also the digs at the bottom about the lowball offers? Some have a lot of spare time, and might just be looking to play...see what ya got for insults...

And depending where you are from...we can buy wheels that 'look' like those for $150/each. NOT the same, but look the same. EVERYONE has custom wheels here because we can buy them so cheap...

Just sayin there are different ways of reading these ads...

Ive sold lots on Kijiji, and its free so there has to be some drawbacks...You could always pay for your ads on the autotrader and get some better customers...

I sold a set of those in 18's with worn out 32" AT's for $800 IIRC and they were pitted pretty decent, funny part was I bought them for less ran them all winter and made like $100, then when I sold a lift to a guy I seen them in the back of his truck they got sold AGAIN for even more then I sold them for, lol. $1200 seems pretty decent.

Although 22's on 37's are pretty ricer :p
