Hi Pinner!
We're moving Way way way up the Wildhorse! otherwise known as "the most amazing place we've ever seen land... aka... heaven" lol

I remember as a kid my dad uses to take me fishing up wildhorse and have memories of people "living off the grid" up there. Just remember the adults with really long hair and the kids walking around naked. Would of been around the mid 70's

Yup that about sums it up here! lol It's still a very natural living kind of community. Kids and dogs everywhere. Most of the kids here are homeschooled, or go to an alternative type school like wildflower or waldorf. Some are in the Salmo school with my kids. It's such an amazing community. There really is the "takes a village to raise a child" mentality here in Ymir.

Spent a lot of time in Ymir as a young kid and always consider moving to the area everytime I visit, love it out there. Alberta has been good to us though, will probably move back when my kid is done school here and on his own

It's funny when you feel like a place is home. That's how it is for us up here. We were talking about it tonight. Another ironic thing is we have more company now up here in Awesomeland, than when we had a house accessible by cars and trucks! lol. It's pretty cool. Good people.

Really enjoyed reading your articles, hope there will b more to come. My wife and I have considered moving to the area so many times in the last few years but always chicken out with the main reason being the bad things we here about the school systems out there. My son is only in grade six but is very bright and has been at the top of his class every year and its hard to take him away from the education system here. Funny though because if I could go back and choose my own path in life I would have chosen for myself to grow up in your area. We live just south of Calgary but I think were more suited for the BC lifestyle, maybe one day we'll be brave enough to do it. My dad was born in Ymir and I used to have so many relatives there but most have moved to the Salmo area, only one remains in Ymir. I've met your friend Marcus a few times as well, seems like a really nice guy. Reading your articles has definitely reignited the thoughts of moving.
