I have 160 miles on my 13 pro 800. I went out riding and was hitting a drift. I am no professional but it was a decent drift. After a while my QD belt blew and so I thought great brought it to the dealer to get a new one. Upon inspection both carbon fiber frame tubes in the engine compartment snapped in half. This caused the bulk head to twist slightly and the steering was a bit out to. I hope they warranty it!! They asked if I had been jumping it. It would take a HUGE jump to snap the frame like that. Not very impressed!

That's unfortunate hope, it gets looked after. Hopefully this doesn't happen with all the '13's with carbon fibre over structure. I've beat the sh@t out of my Assault, whips off cornices, cliff drops, smoked rock hard drifts. Even had a couple hard overshoot to flat landings as well as bouncing off trees and its held up great so far

I have about 4 good rollovers on my 13 pro and it's all good. My buddy rolled his hard enough on ice to fold the handle bars down into the tank, crush the windshield and crack the hood and his is fine as well.
Hope this is just a fluke and that all goes well with your warranty claim.

Well my dealership is being no use as usual says Polaris won't warranty it end of story. Seems pretty lame to me! The carbon tube snapped right where Polaris has a hole drilled in it. Probably for a wiring harness or something who knows. But that's definitely the weak link!

I would go above the dealer and straight to polaris and start throwing the words saftey and liability around a lot.

A cross hole drilled in carbon fibre with no metal support is simply poor design. Carbon fibre is very strong until you put cracks or holes in it. Then ita like paper mache.

Classic case, break your OWN ch!t come on line and bash brand and dealer, both of which you picked! Come on MAN, who hit the Small (you say) drift? You, or polaris and your dealer? I don't know either but theses posts blaming others are crazy.

Is that true Dazzler?? Every one I have seen have these holes (not good IMO). Shouldn't do that to CF. But maybe there was a running change that could help the OP.

I just took a peak in from the side panels and did not see any holes but have never had the hood off... I will for sure pull it off and report. I would agree with you that holes would NOT be a good thing those struts...

wasn't this issue raised here before? I seem to remember someone posting their CF tubes cracked where the dealer had drilled holes in it for some sort of accessory? I'm sure he said it was warrantied....

I though I read a dealer bulletin telling them to stop drilling the holes and use another procedure to mount bags. If so, tubes with holes should be warranty no?

The holes in mine were drilled because they have a little plastic rivet that holds a wiring harness that goes there. It's simply retarded. I would like to know who else had there's crack? Polaris says they have heard of a couple but will not warranty because they should not break. Yet when they explained it to my mechanic at my local dealership they said a hard jar on the handle bars has known to break the tubes. Ding ding ding faulty design Polaris. I am just another unhappy customer to add to the list I guess!

Sorry to hear that you have issue's and your dealer is not standing behind you. On another not though, if you bought a sled to jump drifts and ditch bang then maybe the pro is not the best sled for your riding style, i agree that poor design is poor design but to 2013 pro is definately not built for jumping drips and ditch banging.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Let's see these holes! So what is this part worth? The hobby we all enjoy is not known to be cheap. Suck it up, pay for the part and get back on the snow. Just because one or two broke, doesn't mean every pro out there is doomed to be a pile of crap. These sleds, and I mean every brand, are amazing to ride. Comparethestuff to even 5 years ago. Night and day different. Ya Polaris is using carbon fibre, who cares... It's known to be tough, and light. I say good on them for inling outside the box.

Geo, I got a chance to pull the hood off of my 13 this aft... and there is in fact holes drilled into the CF tubes for the clips to suspend the wire harness... everything looks good otherwise but then again I only have about 250 miles on the sled so far
