I grew up on the north shore of lake Huron, this is what you have to have out on the great lakes when the wind picks up and the swells get big.if the link works check out the engines and outdrives on this SOB

My 24' Fisher 'toon. It ain't real fast, but it still pulls me on the air-chair, plus you don't have to leave too many peeps standing on the beach.

skeleton lake eh.... where you from boost lol i just finished doing a regional water line from colinton to boyle haha.

yea we run the lower red, sorta mild unless your doing like 65mph+ or just learning. was looking to do the upper red this year, been up there once and it is pretty awasome. nice a carvey (hah is that a word) but no serious big rocks to do any major damage. only gets real skinny if you get way up it.

Whereabouts r you Oler? We ran the Upper Rred last year all the way to Mountainire lodge. If you have a 17 and you havent run that yet you HAVE to. One of the best days of jetboating yet. Lots of rapids and not too much in terms of dull stretches. Sure the Upper , down from sundre is fun too depending on water levels but the Upper, upstream of Sundre, is awesome.

We should go for some runs, you'd be the third person I know in Calg with a 17...

PM me your info

A lil river we ran at the tiop of the Upper Red(video ends on the Red Deer)

Honestly it just becomes "normal" to us after a while. Its still a rush but ive forgotten what "normal" lake boating is to be honest. Thats why I love taking out newbies cause I remember some of my first extreme jet boat rdes and whats its like to learn what a boat can really do in 4" of water.

Downstream you wanna be going as fast as possible to keep the boat up while leaving yourself a lil extra throttle for emergency maneuvers and as much time as possible to think about your "next" move. Its all a tradeoff of course with the one exception that stopping isnt an option, or at least is a very bad one lol Almost equally bad is hesitation on decisions and they often result in sliding gravel.... or worse lol

I'd estimate there the boat is doing 40ish and maybe another 10 river speed added in at times.

If anyone in the calg area wants to go for a rip sometime just send me your info, and trust me, once your addicted to this , you definitely do this sorta thing(and worse) with your own boat LOL
