So my son just bought a new 2015 f150 with tow package and 3.5l ecoboost... Towing capacity is 12000 lbs, and payload capacity is 3800 lbs..... Wow
Did that get him written out of the will? Bringing a Ford home to the Langford Dodge farm?

Hey, cmon.... Both kids have Ford F-150 .... Wifey has topless mustang. Wifey has Chrysler 200 limited, and my dodge 1500... Ford is winning in our family now... Then you have Sean (courts boyfriend), new 3500 gmc and 800hp new Camaro....

3,800 lb payload? Are you sure that's not 2,800 lb?

My 2011 Reg Cab 4X4 HD F150 has a 2,700 lb payload...and that's pretty crazy for a HD 1/2 ton.

Highest I could find on Fords website is 3300lbs for the 2016 F150. Up 700lbs from 2015. BUT... only on the 2wd. Which, don't get me wrong, is still VERY impressive. But certainly not 3800lbs.

Take it to a scale see how much it weights with the bumpers on, all you accessories and not bring gutted like the manufactures do when making the "payload" number, then subtract actual weight from the gvwr.
Yep. There's some really tiny writing at the bottom of the page.

3300lb (it's actually 3240 or 3270lbs, depending on a engine choice) payload is only 2wd. AND with regular cab.

My guess is that your son bought a 4x4 crew cab, giving him a MAXIMUM payload of 2660lbs. Or 1207kg. Someone needs to do some research and stop listening to car salesmen.

Nope... Your info is wrong, plain and simple. The sales flyer, the sticker on his door, his owners manual is all the justification I need... Sorry
