I had one on my last sled. I had one panick situation where the handlebars dropped down after jumping off a small berm into a field which pulled the cable tight to full throttle. I went to use the lefty another time while moving and accidentally grabbed the brake. I did a real nice flip over the bars and was lucky I was standing on the left running board or I probably would have landed on my hood.
The lefty would be handy in some situations but I didn't trust myself with one anymore.

I can see where they are a nice addition, but a properly positioned throttle will be just fine as well IMO. A lot of people have their throttles too low, which makes it fine for the trail ride but once you stand up then it's too low and too hard to grab from the left side of the sled. I say to most people that want a lefty, try turning your stock throttle handle up until it's just above paralell on the bars. This often helps with the sidehilling from the left and not being able to reach the throttle. The downside to this is it's not as comfortable trail position for your thumb and if you are running many trail miles, you will take a while to build up the thumb muscle required (meaning there will be some sore thumb days). If you still can't reach it, then maybe you want to try a lefty.

I also don't like the extra linkages and cables, seen too many open throttle sticks with set ups like these, WFO when you least expect usually ends in bad things.
