I'm looking at options for more light in my pick up and the girlfriends minivan, I've had a hid kit in my pickup before and had a ballast fail and went back to regular halogen bulbs . My question is, do the led bulbs make a big difference in the stock headlight housings?

You bet they do but they have to be clocked in the housing correctly .
The LED has to be sitting so they are in line with the reflective area on housing .
Cross ways and not up and down.
If installed so LED is facing opposite direction of reflective area it will just distort the light and is terrible .
Some of the early kits and even some without the abilities to turn the led inside housing will position light in wrong .

just put some in my ram 3500 couple months ago in the low beam only huge difference in light
really no need for my morrimoto led projector fog lights or light bar now
$55.00 on amazon
if you have a Ram you need the canbus adapters to avoid the flickering

Is that a H11 bulb? There's a huge assortment on amazon , hard to pick with the price differences

My 2008 Ram I tried it and it still flicked with the canbus.
It may have been a cheap set. I do want to try them again.

To OP: Google h11 to h9 conversion I've done this to a couple vehicles works great, costs 25 bucks takes 55 watt bulb up to 65 watt, 1700 lumins to 2350 lumins.

How does that work?

Buy normal sylvania or Phillips H9 bulb from crappy tire trim tabs as per many internet vids / pics/ plug in and go, only cost is approx $12.50 bulb last vehicle I did this in was 2013 gmc, worked fantastic.
