Keep leaking antifreeze out of sled but can't find the problem, AKA the wet spot other than the puddle under the sled. There was a posting of which crimp usually leaks but I can't find the post or was it a pic? Either way if some one can let me know the typical problem area it would be appreciated so Glen doesn't end up fixing it while I'm in McBride. It's an 09 XP800, leaks every time it gets really cold, -20 or worse.

My XP 08 leaks a little antifreeze if I fill it up to the full level on my resevoir. It leaks out the overflow but seems to stop once it reaches a certain spot. Level is just below where it should be. As long as you don't continue to lose antifreeze IMO it should be OK.

My 2010 Everest did the same...

the 2 clamps from the front heat exchanger are usually the problem
You can see them from the rht side one behind the chaincase the other under the motor. You can change the clamps to screw clamps but it can be a nightmare. good luck

slide your air box out and look at the hoses there, they are usually the ones, have to remove factory clamp or sometimes there is enough nipple where you vcan just add a screw clamp to the hose there.recheck all the hose clamps also when its cold out things contract and become looser.

it could just be that your filling your reservoir up a little too full. it is very common for an xp to piss a little out the over flow when it gets really cold. i run my level under the full line on the reservoir so its only about half full and no leaks now. But like extrmsled said it could also be the clamps from the heat exchanger. They are just crimped clamps that heats up and cools down so many times that eventually they get loose. You can get a screw clamp on it but you need some patience :) good luck

My leak was the heat exchanger too. I found that it leaked when the sled was parked, and the temp. was extremely low (-30). It would leak on the exhaust side. I pulled my airbox to access the leaking hose clamps, and I had to turn one clamp around in order to tighten it properly. I placed some orange silicone in the screw/clamps in order to prevent them from backing out. I no longer have any leaks. Good luck finding your antifreeze leak.

Thanks for the repys, gues I could have given a little more info. It has leaked out the overflow but only a little when I overfilled it so it is not leaking out the overflow and I've pulled the air box and the hoses were dry as was the top of the tunnel. It drained out the entire resivoir and then some overnight on my deck at -30ish. I guess I'll have a little harder look at the other clamp mentioned by the motor. Never leaks when its running so it has to be a loose clamp affected by the nipples contracting in the hoses. Thanks for the replys, guess I just need to look a little harder as the search area is pretty small.

Just had this problem on my rebuilt 800r.. On the sides of the block there are 2 allen screws that go to your coolant ports. Check to make sure those arent leaking.
