A great idea that Teck and whoever else developed. It was so popular in Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford, and Blairmore that the powers to be are thinking of maybe holding another couple nights somewhere!

Hats off to the all the sponsors. Some of the ones that I remember are Teck Coal, Canadian Avalanche Center, BackCountry Access, and Ghostrider Motorsports.

The photo is of the run-out over a groomed trail out of Elkford on Jan. 15, 2011. The trail was buried with 15'+ of snow. Even on "groomed trails" in the mountains, avi savy needs to be front and foremost. Be safe out there!
