The Motofist is suppost to be very good and a way better priced alternative to Klim, the only thing that some guys are questioning is they use the Event waterproof membrane vs the proven gore tex. But apparently the build quality of the Motorfist gear is beyond top notch, as soon as I can try it on for sizing I may be going that way.

thats what happened to me in revy and blue river brand new hmk gambler coat w/voyager bib and pro boa boots I was warm because of layering but all my clothes were completely soaked it took two cycles through the dryer to kinda dry it that was in a slushy snow as well. but even when the coat has snow sitting on it for a period of time it gets soaked rite through my opinion spend the extra money and get the good stuff it is well worth it in the end. I already have to get brand new gear as my hmk made me very unhappy

I have been using the new Scott Freeride gear and it rocks, its as waterproof as my old Burton AK gear but more durable for sledding.

Klim stuff works good, but IMO you look like a telemark skier from 1994 in that stuff....

I worked for Bonfire/Salamon back in the early 2000's, our top of the line stuff was made with "event" membrane for a few years, it was as good if not better that the goretex we used before... In fact I still have a jacket from 2001 that is tripple layer, taped seamed "event" and I use it as my water proof work jacket in the forklift at work, it keeps me dry as a bone 9 years later, keep in mind this jacket has well over 300 days of snowboarding on it as I was bartending in Banff at the time and could go to the hill 100 times a season....I was actually wearing it all last week when it was pouring all day, every day.

I switched to HMK last year as I got it cheap and my FXR gear that I had was way to bulky (felt like the michelin man) but I'm worried about the water proofness factor of it. Might have to go to Motorfist as Klim doesnt seem to fit me, the pants anyways. and their prices are too rich for my blood.

A buddy of mine has a Motorfist jacket and he's happy with it. It' looked like a decent quality jacket. Just one season so far. He bought it off a sled shop in Revy.

It's function and not fashion! I don't care if I look like everyone else as long as I'm dry and warm! Klim has a great warranty and is great gear. I ride easily 100 days a year, sometimes more, and my last pair of bibs were 5 years old and leaking; they replaced them no questions asked after the water test!

To me that is friggin' awesome......

For you guys that use that excuse of "look alikes" give it up and dig deep and get the best gear......KLIM
