I posted this on the Avalanche area of Snow and Mud, should of posted it here. There has been another avalanche near Kimberly involving 5 sledders. All 5 were rescued but one is unconscious and enroute to hospital. This is news that we don't want to hear we have had enough bad news this year. Lets hope this sledder will be okay.

Sad news from the Kimberly avalanche; The Vancouver Province newspaper is reporting one person has died as a result of this avalanche. This will be the 15th sledder killed in an avalanche this year. This has been a very dangerous year for mountain sledding, please be extra careful outhere, infact you should rethink your mountain sledding plans for the rest of this season. My condolences go to this persons family. I hope we don't repeat his again this year.

Does anyone know if a name has been released on the Kimberley avalanche victim? These are my old stomping grounds...so I just want to know if all my buddies are OK...

Damn...that sucks! I used to coach Clay snowboard racing and I worked with his dad for many years:( He was a really good kid...really sinks in when it hits so close to home!!
