Kids sleds

If Doo made the 300 still I would buy one. What sled is best for kids to learn on? My boy is 8.5yrs and tall... Not bad on dirt bike... I am looking for a 250 Enticer or Bravo, I think... If anyone has a good unit for sale let me know pls. Joel.

Yes a 340 indy is good

But mabe a bit big for a 8.5 year old

More so for a 10 plus, kid needs some weight to manipulate it

I really don't know why no OEM one has jumped on this market...seems like the only options for new stuff are 120's and then up to a 500 phazer on the low end. Can't tell me something like a 250 to 340 from any brand wouldn't sell.

Same thing goes as a 300 freestyle that doo made up to a few years ago

Need some body mass or the sled does what it wants

It is a shame that doo stopped makin the 300 Freestyle. My boy rode 1 from age 6 to 9. I am a cat man and I was super impressed with the Freestyle. There are some still out there to be had but you have to be quick or they usually don't last . We bought some parts for ours a couple years back from a place called The Sled Parlour in Carstairs. At the time they had a bunch of those 300 Freestyle's for sale. Might be worth it to give them a call. They are an awesome starter sled for small kids. Best of luck in your search. 340 Indy Lite for sure. All my kids have started on one and they can handle it well. Put a small paddle track on and they don't get stuck either.

my boy was riding the wife's M6 @ 10 years old, and he was the size of a 7 year old. he had no issues in the fields or in the low sloped meadows in valemount. The M6 has very smooth power delivery.

I love the little 340 indy lights but because they are hard to come by the prices are way high... I'd think an M5 or M6 would work for you. Tundras a awesome easy to ride light sleds as well but also hard to come by at a reasonable price.

I just sold 2 Yamaha 250 Bravo long tracks. They are great kids sleds. If your lucky to find any for sale in good shape you will be happy.

I might be selling the 377 safari it's a great sled I did a skid track upgrade to a 09 renegade skid and 136 1" 1/4 track the thing works great just needs a new hood

i have an mxz 380 for sale that "might" need an engine rebuild. i havent torn into it but it just stopped running one day. could be stator too.

Just sold both tundras back in the spring, agree they are a good capable sled for kids or adults, freestyle or bravo can go wrong either. Indy lite sounds good too.
Just stay away from the older sleds as they always have gremlins unless your riding along side all the time and dont mind dirty hands. Also wind protection is why the tundra and bravo are top on my list, a cold ride is not a fun ride for the youngens.. I ride a 1980 elan single and it does me good, warm, reliable and easy to get unstuck. If you can find an 1980 or newer in good shape would be all good for a couple winters

Was in that predicament last year. He started on arctic cat 120. At 7 the machine couldn't keep up to his riding ability. I ended up going with a 2000 polaris trail 550 fan cooled and was amazed how he could handle it plus with the fan cooling he can ride it around home with a little less snow. I wish now I would've went with a m6 or polaris rmk 600 with a 141 track. Gonna look for that this year. My boy also rides a kx 65 I find as long as they know about the throttle response they usually can ride the machine. Hope this helped

my boy since 6 has been riding a moded 1980 440 srv. it is a little big for him cause of his weight but he learned real quick how to handle the sled... not saying he doesn't have more to learn. lol. honestly its all I had for him to ride when he thought the 340 enticer didn't have enough power... sorry not for sale the younger ones ride it now. if you can get one though there a great sled! I have an 85 340 tr 136 2up. just keeps going.

I found an excellent little Indy Star Lite 250 GT for my 8 year old last year. The long track works nice for those deep days and he loves being able to double with it. He also thinks he's a big deal towing the ice fishing shack in the winter time! LOL
