Ok we got the flights and house booked now. Has any ever been to Kauai?? what are the must things to do. We have been to Maui 3 times and have done alot there. Now trying something different. Didnt care for Cuba that much, so this should be a nice upgrade. Not sure if they rent motorcycles?? I have to check into that.

Been to Kauai, 2 years back. I enjoyed just getting in the rental and checking out the island. I found Kauai was a lot more laid back than Maui, less touristy activities.

No. Where is it? Never heard of it before.

On the far north end of barking sands, past the military base. All the tour brochures warn of the crappy roads, and the rental companies won't cover your vehical, but if you live in Alberta your grandma and her crib buddy's could drive there.
Not a place for swimming, beautiful twenty mile beach but 30 ft breakers and serious rip tide, well worth the drive tho if you want seclusion and the full power of the pacific ocean, next stop, Japan.

No ch!t, that's where I stayed too. Was not a bad little spot, right next door to some places to eat on the cheap, ABC Store for liquor etc. They had a nice beach there, and the pool was good too.

Scotts is right. The waves there are pretty killer, very rough. I frankly got my ass kicked in the water. Can't beat the sound though! Check out Tunnels Beach, great spot...
