Does anyone else find it ironic that the biggest proponents of "climate change" or "climate crisis" also have the biggest carbon footprint of anybody? That in itself should be a hint they don't believe it themselves. This is bogus science purely for the purpose of manipulation of the masses to make money.

Who exactly stands to profit in this conspiracy? How does the green energy industry compare to the revenue of the top 10 oil companies that combined for 2.839 trillion dollars in 2017?

All the big oil companies love wind and solar power, they know how unreliable it is, so there still needs to be a gas or coal power plant near by ready to ramp up production when needed. So instead of nice even power production coming out of the plant it has spikes and lows as demand is needed based on what solar or wind cant provide. So I would guess end up using more gas or coal in the long run.

We have been pretty dry the last 4 years. But the 10 years prior to that were quite wet. Last year we had a day that was 43 degrees.
So you think clouds are the reason for temperature anomalies rather than co2 ppm?
And this year we’re struggling to hit 30 so what’s your point. That’s weather patterns. If it wasn’t for irrigation most of southern Alberta would be an inhabitable wasteland.

Exactly, When I called the okanagan to book a RV site last month the person in the phone said is abnormally cold for that time of year.

pretty much everyone I know in Alberta and on this site has made a living off the oil industry. maybe that is why we are quick to defend it?

so Google tells me 200ppm was the ice age and that's too cold for me and 280 is the sweet spot. so I'll go with that.

if all of Canada switched to solar what kind of a difference would that make to planetary levels?

how do you convince China and India and the USA to go green? if we could maintain 280ppm with carbon capture instead on solar and wind would that satisfy climate change alarmists?

might be easier for Canada and Europe to just vacuum the carbon out of the atmosphere then to get the whole planet on board with solar?

This is where we differ. I don't see temperature "anomalies" yet. I believe we are in a cycle and since 2016 the cycle is heading cooler. Yes still above the average but definitely heading down since then. There may be hotter years than 2016 too but over-all it gets hot, then it gets cool, all back and forth due to solar activity. Do we influence the weather at all, of course we do but in both ways. We put natural forest fires out and we burn fuel to heat our homes. Both speed up the natural direction that the earth is headed as far as climate goes.

Exactly. The atmosphere on earth is what it allows it to have life.

Yes, so why compare our planet to one that has never had the ability to sustain life???

I would fathom a guess, the ones who stand to make the most profit are the ones who pound on our oilsands industry. How many of those countries imposed a carbon tax on its citizens?

I think for the most part, some forgot what the oil and gas industry have brought them, even if they have never worked in the industry directly.

So if the CO2 theory was true and it let heat in and not out than going to solar would be a huge mistake! Have any of you felt the heat reflected off a solar panel when you clean it??? Very uncomfortable temperature to be close to.

Regarding point #1 what I would really like to know is if the humidity in the atmosphere has been increasing over the past 200 years? If the atmosphere has heated up slightly it would be assumed that the evaporation rate would also be up too. This would make more potential for the atmosphere to hold more heat and secondly make more clouds. Both have opposite effects in changing the earth's temperature. Here is the UK rain records. As you can see every 5-10 years there is a dry and likely hot year (under 1000mm) if these become more frequent than the the over 1000mm years then we will be in trouble.

For one it is a huge amount of free tax money for all governments and they haven't begun to charge what they want. They don't even have to justify the lack of any results. At least with oil companies who make profits you are buying a product that you require in our modern world.

You're far better off reading the actual paper (its only 6 pages) than the food blog summary.

Like I said, the clouds will save us. Johnny what is your opinion on increasing cloudiness due to increased evaporation from increased global temperature and do you agree that the clouds will cause a cooling effect? Or do you believe the clouds moisture will absorb heat and insulate us causing higher temps?
