The climate alarmists use hysteria and misinformation to bully the average person into submission. They call CO2 “ carbon pollution “. It’s not pollution, it’s a necessary, naturally occurring constituent gas in our atmosphere. Without it, we all die. There is no scientific consensus anywhere that agrees on what the optimum level of CO2 is. When asked, the climate alarmists can’t specify a maximum level of CO2, but instead cite a maximum temperature rise of xx degrees from an arbitrary date in the past as the tripwire for global catastrophic destruction. Even at that, they can’t specify anything, but instead couch their arguments with words like “may, estimated, assumed, forecast, anticipated, forecast, presumed, possibly, might, expected etc, etc”. And they cannot tie a direct link of amount of temperature rise per amount of increased CO2.
What is concerning is that it’s typically wealthy academics, celebrities, media, and politicians hypocritically trying to order, shame and tax the masses into altering their lifestyles while they themselves continue to live a life of excess, with many of them profiting financially from the promotion of the renewable energy systems directly, or profiting from the hysterical promotion of the climate change hysteria. David Suzuki and al gore are prime examples of the latter.
Nowhere in the third world is anything being done about climate change, only in the west that have free, prosperous democratically run economies. You’ll never see anybody from the western world marching in China, Russia, India etc, because they know that there is little tolerance there for their antics. They do it here because it’s trendy and easy to do, and when they’re done protesting they can get in their cars and drive home to their comfortable, warm houses, blissfully unaware that they’re nothing more than a bunch of sheep being manipulated by special interests that profit from their useful idiocy.
