In them hills.
Yamaha has also made similar claims and my understanding the advertised HP number's are VERY liberal and under rated. It will be a fair assurance that the King Cat and the Side Winder are solid reliable 200+hp motor's out of the box.
To put that in some sort of perspective for general riding around 6,000ft, Revy area. The current 2stroke any make out of the box sled with average claimed 160hp is now a mere 130hp. Talk about SUCKY and non thrilling. I'ed stick to tree's too with that type of pussy power.
If they were liberal numbers they would have told us it was 600 HP and 250 lbs.

Sure do Dan.....thanks

I was only joking around about Lunds comment directed at 2strokes. I like riding the Turbo Vipers ext around when I get the chance.

The power is pretty unreal and you guys make them look good and I'm sure this King Cat will be a hell of a machine.

Yah a big guy and a good rider will make those 4 strokes rock! They make crazy power! But if you are on the smaller size like me (around 160-170#) they are just to big of a machine.

I'm not a big guy and I still ride a turbo apex and a turbo viper, you learn a lot of finesse on the throttle control. And nothing beats a big turbo 270-290+ in the deep deep powder.

It will feel like night and day compared to the nytro. I have a 2015 viper with the 180 and would take it over a nytro any day of the week. I found my nytro twitchy to ride but the viper rides much flatter and more predictable. I am sure the sidewinder will be even better. The fit and finish is definately to yamaha standards, looked at it on the showroom floor today.

In my head
New infro from EVO's dyno testing.

"We spent more time on the dyno yesterday. A couple of things - our engine now has about 4 hours on it and appears to have loosened up a bit. That coupled with colder dyno room temps and a larger fan on the intercooler have netted a new baseline of 187.9 hp.
we could not find any break in programming that would limit power."

Does 265-270lbs count geared up?
I'm solid 220+ naked lol.
i wish I could loose some weight but not much to shed, at most 5-10lbs and that might be on thin side lol.

Yup that counts! That's why you like the big 4 strokes (besides the power) you don't notice the weight as much. I am 180-190 geared up not big enough to move those machines.

I'm just around the 190-200 and no I can't Chris Brandt my apex through the trees but that's not my style of riding. I do tree ride some but prefer nipple deep powder that is where my sled shines and it makes it fun to ride. And if you point it up hill in that deep of pow not much even comes close. The viper turbo I have handles lighter than the apex in lower snow conditions but throttle control is the biggest thing to learn with that 260-290 hp. All in all ride whatever suit you for the style of riding you do. Have fun at it and ride safe!!!!
