You might. It depends how thick the aluminum rims are. I put aftermarket aluminum rims on my wife's ranger using the original studs, but there wasn't a whole lot of thread going into the nuts. As long as you keep an eye on them, and tighten them every ride, you should be okay.

Also not to forget some aftermarket rims could have a different wheel nut taper. I replaced the wheel nuts on my rhino because they weren't chrome,.. so I bought the ITP chrome wheel nuts to match the rims.

make sure you also check your offset on the rims otherwise they will hit the strut tower....and all mag wheels work with stock studs but you usaully need the proper lug nuts.

Swamplites are a heavy tire, you may need to adjust your clutch with them, I take it the wheels are off set, if not you may need spacers.

If they are the stock rims and the tires wider than 9in I believe he will need a 1" spacer for the front wheels

9in on the front 12 on the back (i think) fronts are 9 for sure. my buddy works for a dealer and got the rims as spares. the tires he had on his 90% on the fronts and75% on the back he got a small hole in a front and put all new tires on. they fixed the hole and i got the set cheep. i want my stock set up for snow and the 27s for the rest of the year.my stocks go as far as the new swamp lites and mud lites.. they dont dig as bad so they go good in snow

you need to switch out your wheel studs to the longer ones. the studs that are used on steel wheels are no where close to long enough.

Never had a problem when I switched over, if he uses the proper lugs, they should be resesed into the rim to cover the difference in the thickness of the rim.

the alluminum ones are still alot thicker. that why polaris atv's with steel rims have short studs and ones that come with aluminum rims have long studs. you can try it with the short studs but i would not trust it. theres not going to be very many threads in the lug.
