oh sorry i wanst real clear. the wheels are polaris aluminum wheels. so they should fit with stock studs right? just need the tappered nuts i think.
i got wheels from a buddy(new no nuts) i have steel wheels now. i got a set of 27 in swaplites with the wheels. you think 27s are to big for a 500 ho?
you need to switch out your wheel studs to the longer ones. the studs that are used on steel wheels are no where close to long enough.
Never had a problem when I switched over, if he uses the proper lugs, they should be resesed into the rim to cover the difference in the thickness of the rim.
the alluminum ones are still alot thicker. that why polaris atv's with steel rims have short studs and ones that come with aluminum rims have long studs. you can try it with the short studs but i would not trust it. theres not going to be very many threads in the lug.
so.. how hard is it to swap out the studs? i was told this before.. thats what i wanted to know
not very, just hammer out the old ones. then take the new ones push them in through the back and suck them in was a nut and impact.
It's also a good idea to hit the back's with a hammer as you pull them in to help seat them all the way.
