I went to post secondary, told my EMT and firefighting, worked up north for a few years and now I instruct firefighters. Considering going back to school again.

What would or did you take in Post Secondary education?

I'd become a carpenter or take the MCAT's again and be a doctor.

More like 85%...

I'm currently upgrading, UofA OH&S certificate program...

If you have an EMT & Firefighting background then occupational helth and safey might be a good route for you... Plantsites pay OH&S very well and your background pretty much ensures you a position.

6 core courses, 2 electives, 75 (?) seminar hours I think...

My OH&S is a given for me because it's what I've done for the past 15 years, but I will be going on for my MBA & hopefully Law degree afterwards....

Looked at two programs at a US University years ago, one was an Engineering Physics degree program, the second was an Aerospace Engineering degree. Couldn't afford to go then, would still like to try one.

If i had to do it all over, I would have liked to be a teacher. Very enjoyable watching children learn:)

Got my RN in 1989. Male RNs get a lot of opportunities, especially abroad. Hired with fire department in 1990. I'd do it all over again.

exactly what i am doing right now, but with more investing/stock market/financial knowledge.

I liked the holiday situation and became a teacher. Actually, a shop teacher, the best of all teaching positions.

But in my later years I found the draw back; not being able to choose holidays sucked and for 30 years it was 9 to 4 with no flexibility. I know what everyone is saying but hold on a minute.

Hunting season; no holidays, just weekends.
Fishing season; June and Sept are great fishing months.
Winter sledding; no holidays, just weekends.
Cruises; only Xmas or Easter.
Hawaii or Mexico; Xmas or Easter.
Can't book-off, or come in early to have an afternoon off

Sure the summer is great but there is a lot that one likes to doo but can't in the summer.

In my next life I would be an engineer, biologist, or geologist. As one goes up the corporate ladder there is more flexibility for time off and doing the things that one wants in life.

I would not change a thing...I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer nor the dullest. As time goes on there is crazy competition for the career I chose...young folks come out of UofA Engineering wanting a direct route to a senior position...entitlement is a big problem in my industry.

My interests/timing and the inception of the internet in Alberta all happened at the exact same time...I got very lucky.

I would not change a thing.

I would like to remember a little more of my teen years, and try to forget some of my 20's, but my 30's have been pretty good to me. I have awesome kids, a great wife, and a few toys...I don't think I would do anything different.

Oh yeah, I also have some kickass blue friends. See I knew the whole smurf thing wasn't some out-of-control LSD episode.
