This 200lb loveable beast of a dog was "Enticed" by this guys mule?
Come on,,sounds like this dog was chasing his horse and most likely
did so often. I dont know forsure as I dont have the whole story.

Maybe this old grumpy bastard, that most likely has been paying property
taxes in Canada for the last 50years doesnt want a Giant dog chasing his
horses and messing with his 70year old wife? Dont know,, as I dont have the whole story...

Did he acctually point a gun at this kid? Doesnt sound like the cops think so.
Again I dont have the whole story....

I grew up on a "farm" and if your dog was off running around on other "farmers"
property,, there was a chance of it getting shot,,,more likely run over by a
car on the journey. If the dog acctually lisened, 2minutes would have been plenty of time to get it back to saftey, so to speak.

Would I have shot the dog? No. Do I want to face book assault this old
man? NO. For all I know this guy fought in the Korean war and has the Order of Canada for bravery. Again he might be a POS,, I dont really have eneogh evidence here to be this guys judge and jury and go burn down his house while him and his wife sleep in the place they worked thier whole life for.

If others do fine,,,what ever helps you sleep at night....

We've been farming in the same place for 94 years, so that means if someone is on my property getting their dog I'm allowed to go out on my back porch and aim my rifle at them?

If dogs are chasing our cattle, they have a three strike rule and our neighbours know that. Doesn't mean I'm going out to go point a rifle at the owners. quote]

Did you even read any of my posts? or just start typing bs? Go back and read again....
I highlighted the relevant part for you...

Oh and ps go shoot your nieghbor because they killed your dog you'll
be the big time criminal in jail dip****....

Wow, I could feel my blood starting to boil after reading that story. That said, while he may be a little insensitive to the issue, LILDUKE has a very good point about two sides to every story. Personally, I'd really like to hear what the other side has to say before I get all bent up about it.

We joke (well, kind of) about some sort of retaliation for a situation we weren't even personally involved with. Who knows, maybe some series of events angered him badly enough to excecise the poor judgement that he did.

Regardless, a sad story. Poor 'ol Bently.

sorry guys but lilduke has good points.....no I also don't agree with shooting the dog or pointing a gun at anyone. BUT we're hearing this from the families side not the farmers. ite easy for them so say it is a friendly non aggressive dog. but wtf do we know about the whole situation other then the word of the family. there's no police report, no real second hand account of the situation. Just the words of a disgruntled family. trust me if someone killed my dog there would be hell to pay BUT know both sides before you go all bleeding heart......not everything we read on the net is factual.

Ok now whats the other guys side of the story....
Here is a plan keep your huge dog off other peoples property.

Totally agree, seems worded a little too innocently. Very wrong to point gun at the girl. I have no issue with him shooting the dog, but not with the girl there. Have had to shoot a couple neighbors dogs that refused to stay home and would chase horses and cattle.

Regaurdless of weather the dog was chasing his a$$ or if he pionted the gun directly at the girl, if someone shot anything while any of my kids were anywhere other than behind them they had better be on the run. Oh and just because the COPS didn't press charges dosen't mean chit.

couldnt have said it better myself... great point... if it happened that way... Thats what i am waiting to hear! I agree 100 percent with what you said but its illegal to discharge a gun within what 200 meters of another house??? something like that anyhow... if this family's story was believable im thinking dangerous use of firearm and pointing a gun charges would have been laid... if this family feels they have been wronged by a lazy cop who didn't want to charge they could go to his boss and complain. Im thinking there is some sort of history hear or part of the story we all missed... anyhow I HOPE SO... cause if not someone (rcmp) have a lot of questions to answer. Why hasn't this story hit main stream media? They hate the police and love to jump on them.. seems odd to me... IMOP

but were you there? did you see if the girl was near by, or are they saying that out of spite for they're lost pet. I could sit here right now and make up some BS story about someone shooting my poor innocent dog in front of my gf and make up some big son story. and weather it happened or not someone will take my story as gospel and share it to their friends who will share it to their friends and suddenly some made up bs story has people up in arms over something that didn't even happen........people know this is the way of the world now and use it to their advantage to turn people against people they don't like or who have wronged them. they take a happening stretch the chit out of it, make a blog, and BANG this farmer is a dog killing douche who fires guns in the direction of little kids..........i'm not saying this story didn't happen, i'm not saying I wouldn't loose my chit is someone killed my dog or pointed a firearm at my child. i'm simply agreeing with lilduke in saying you have no idea what happened, there is no big news story (because you know the media would have a field day with this if it happened), and no criminal charges were filed. so weather it happened from there is all hear say, But because this was posted in some blog, people are outraged.....just be careful how you judge, one day you may be protecting your home from some delinquent but some blog will say you pulled a gun on their "little angle" who was such a sweet boy and never did anything wrong, and you will be the monster they're portraying in this blog......just something to think about ..............................................................

Did you read the blog? Several friends and neighbors commented that Mr. X was a weirdo with cameras pointing at the property of the dog owners. Also stated that Mr X sends his own dogs out to chase people who ride by on horseback. So, although no "real verification", I am inclinded to lean towards the theory that Mr X is an a-hole and the cops in this case have been negligent and lazy. Hopefully, the dog owners take MrX to civil court...then maybe more of the story will come out.

I did read the comments but a couple of comments from a few other neighbors (who very well could be friends of the accusers, or the accusers them selves) still doesn't prove anything, my dogs will run at other animals if not tied, (mind you I do keep them tied) but that doesn't mean I send them after them. and come one their mule enticed the dog tom come over? that's like me saying all horses entice my dog to chase them. the news story also mentions a feud between the families. this story is a very good way to get people on your side.

I had a neighbor who used to have cameras pointing in all hi neighbor's yards too....yes, he was a flippin weirdo. His name was Ledd Zeppelinn (note the spelling)...not kidding...google him up. We found the best way to pi$$ off a guy with cameras was to photograph him every time he came outside...drove him absolutely bonkers until he finally moved.

Anyways, my experience with surveillance-camera people (not for the purpose of theft deterrent) is that they are a bit off balance....

Just an update. I forwarded this to global and it was on the evening news. I guess the stupid law is you can protect your livestock and pets on your property.

So if you twist it the guy legally could shoot the dog being he could say it was attacking his horse or donkey or whatever.

But also legally some one breaks into your house and was going to murder rape and rob your family but you kill him or hurt him first your going to jail longer than he would have.

Also its the law if some one is stealing your property you cannot fire your gun at them.

So because of our lame court systems and law and police this guys going to probably get off scott free just like the pieces of **** that steal out sleds and quads.
