Hey guys,

I am beginning the build of a TX300 snowbike and I am thinking of putting a Lectron carb on. My question is 38mm or 40mm? I know for dirt the best setup would be the 38mm for the improved throttle response over a 40mm but for a snowbike setup I think the throttle response is maybe slightly less of a priority since you are always on the gas and maybe the 40mm Lectron would sneak out a couple extra peak HP? thoughts?

Just wanted to know if people running a KTM or Husq 300 2 stroke what there carb setup is and if they would do anything different?

Thanks.

Most guys run the 38 Lectron or Smarty for a snowbike application. Throttle response is key. You will not be on the gas constantly on a snowbike (well other than on the trail up). You will soon forsake anything remotely resembling open terrain for riding in the trees. That is where the huge fun factor is.

I had the Smartcarb. Little more finicky getting it tuned than the Lectron - but once it was on like running an FI bike. Lectrons seemed to be great out of the box if you ask for the snowbike jetting.

Carb heat is key to a good performing setup. Make sure you plumb in a shut-off. Come March and April you won't need it.
