My sons first year of hunting packing a rifle, and first deer. Rattled in by himself, 1 shot to the neck at 123 yards with a .243 savage, shooting 100gr bullet.

got both my does on sat walked back to get the truck sat down in seat looked forward right into the eyes of a 150 class buck at 50 yards. startled him just as much as he did me. he was instantly on the run didn't get a shot dang. then on the way home saw cow moose standing about 30 yards off the trail in the trees. funny thing is there was 4 guys pushing the bush for a cow moose across the road and 100 yards back.

I've spent a lot of time in 504 looking for a bull moose with no luck so far. Yesterday afternoon my grampa took me to a "special spot" and we wer'nt there for 10 minutes and have a little shot of scotch from the hunting flask when this guy came out on a doe trail nose to the ground. I hopped out of the truck made a little brappp noise and he stopped dead in his tracks. 175 yards through a small willow bush and got a beautiful neck shot with my 300 win mag. Biggest buck i have ever shot and with my grampa....greatest hunting memory to date!!

Well i must say that this was the best hunting season i've ever had. I did'nt get to fill my moose tag but i did get the biggest white tail of my hunting days with my 79 year old grampa and to top it off my bro (poppajon) came out for the last couple of days of the season. We went to the same spot i got my deer and 1/2 an hour later this guy stepped out at 120 yards. so here's some pics of our deer.

1.poppajon
2.poppajon
3.me and poppajon
4.both deer
5.my deer

The deer all look great and moose too.
I got a bull moose and nice mule deer.
Hunted last 4 days for the monster whitetail but saw small bucks.

Now they can grow bigger for next year.
Now what to do......
