You see that lots. They must go out and camp when the tide is low. Then get stuck and tide washes back in.

Almost did that once. No trailer just the truck.
We drove up to Skagway Alaska back in 2011, figured we would drive out to Dyea to check out the ghost town. Parked by a bunch of timbers sticking out of the beach. Left the truck there. Did a hike through the old Town site. Reading the signs the timbers we were next to were part of the pier. But being a dumb Prairie boy never clued in hey the tide comes up. Instead my thought was hmm, that's a long ways from the water.
Walked back to the truck. Drove over to the old cemetery to read the head stones and wonder around there. Then back on the highway back to Skagway. Looked across the water and the timbers of the old pier were now in the water. Tide came in.
Glad we left when we did. Otherwise I'd have been one of those idiots who didn't know better.
