I’ve done that. I made a 6” extension with 2 male ends. Works well.

I’m going to go with “plugging in a male into an outlet and a male into the female part of the Christmas lights will make the male end of the Christmas lights live. Which is now exposed.”

Suicide cord they call those.

Supposedly they can be used to backfeed a house via an outside outlet in the event of a power outage. Of course nobody does that because it's against electrical code, and if the main panel breaker is not switched off it could backfeed the lines the lineman are working on.
