So I have had the last 4 versions of the HCT touch, all good phones, to me any ways. I have recently bought the new HTC Desire.
Just wondering if anyone has this phone, if so what do you like/hate about it.
Hear of any problems or have any problems with it.

Thanks.

geez noone replied to ya?? I picked up the HTC desire in mid january and have been impressed and yet thoroughly disappointed at same time. it does alot of stuff great. its like a mini computer, have 3 different emails on it, camera is great, lots of apps, good screen, fairly fast loading, quite durable with the otter case. BUT IT SUCKS AS A PHONE. i found cell service is worse than my work phone and my old lg380, battery life is horrible... 10-14 hrs and i need a charger now!! if i use it much it has gone dead in 7 hrs. the sound is very weak, have to have it cranked right up and press against your ear. The call button doubles as your end call button....which turns into a double press and your back to talking to the person you just hung up on. Adding contacts on your google account and then pressing sync on your phone made fairly short work of entering 350 phone numbers and email accounts. dont waste your time entering numbers into phone book, just add them to people contact list, easier to see contacts, switch thru numbers etc. Almost wishing i would have pushed telus harder to get the iphone4 for a better price, would like to have compared them

wow I hadnt seen this thread yet.
what quadnut said is all true. the battery life does suck, but it is a smart phone. I was kinda expecting it would. I have learned to carry my car charger with me everywhere I go, just in case I have a few phone calls.
Besides that, I love the phone.

talked to a telus rep today about my drop calls, i was side by side with another guy in shop with same phone and i was consistently 1 bar less service than him. the rep said my phone needed an update which was for reception, so ill give it a few days and see if it improves. The rep also stated that there are many areas in the province such as cold lake, conklin, fort mac, whitecourt, sylvan lake that have had an increase in smart phone customers since january ( albertas booming time) and the towers cant keep up to the 3g requirements. Hoping things improve, i like the phone, getting used to working around a few issues. just want better service, and i have two chargers, one is a 12v, usb and 110v combo that is always in my truck.

Anyone having problems, that since day lights saving time, when recieving texts, it says that you recieve it at a different time?

For example If I were to recieve a message right now (12:09 AM) it will say that I recieved it at 2:09. 2 hours later.

Knock on wood I havent had the problems you guys have so far. However when travelling it is always plugged as I have a booster charger mount deal rigged up in the truck. I do get a few error msg when sending txt some times but it does always seem to go through eventually. You never really know if the phone is acting up or if telus is just taking a day off as they seem to do.
