That freaked me out ! You could hear the panic in the poor guy that was watching....no one and I mean no one....wants to see somone get hurt like that....makes you sick to see somethig like that....I have been a little guilty myself in not making sure they are tight....In fact I am going to use winch straps instead of the "pull and tight enough with 2 inches of slack" set-up....thanks for sharing this...could save a persons life !!!!!

Ouch that looks nasty! :-( I was using a friends home made ramps a couple years ago and they colapsed like these,----luckly i didnt hammer the throttle like this guy and i had a helmet on ----my grizz hammered and bent the tailgate on the way down and it just stood on its rear , not a complete roll like this one.

I promptly bought a set of good folding ramps with the straps after that --- no more borrowing crap.

I always load in 4 wheel drive to reduce the chances of a wheelie.

Seen and heard of this happening far too much...

Simple steps are to have the proper length of ramps for your loading height, Have them secured/tied down, if you have a 4x4 or a low range option use them.

Using momentem is a little dangerous with a heavier quad (4x4) momentum puts a lot of force on those ramps and could cause your ramps to colapse or slide forward into your truck as most ramps tie downs are designed to prevent slide outs not ups!

i have had a few races to the tailgate with my yfz450 and folding ramps, my truck had a flat tool box, the ramps had to sit on DRAWERS which obviously move, fortunately i won ever race so far. but the added 8" of height of the tool box +2" of lift in the truck made for some performances loading.when the ramps start taking off USE THE BRAKES! then roll back off reset and go faster but not fast enough to take out the back window.
