I've got an '11 super crew, about 76000km, cooler was changed in dec/jan didn't help, they put a deflector on, still didn't fix it, went back a few weeks ago, as they wouldn't work on it until ford came up with a fix. They took the deflector off the top and put it on the bottom and a computer update...still not running right. Finally got it to throw a code, and they changed the plugs and 2 coils, she runs like a champ again! Fuel mileage is still unimpressive though. 15l/100km. Was around 19l/100km empty for about 5 months. Towing my boat, I was between 23-25 per 100. When it was new I was around 13/100 and towing the boat was about 19/100

Maybe downhill with a tail wind, everyone I know that owns them is getting about 12-14L/100km with them, thats real driving, in real conditions, on the highway at about 110-120km/h.
Real driving conditions through the mountains in winter (the only time I drove it) so fifty fifty time with 4x4 and 2x4 I was avg 11-13 and soon as I would get past hinton I would set the cruise (if conditions allowed) at 115 and it would avg 7 all the way to fox creek. No bull, I was really impressed with it and wish I could have gotten that motor in the new vehicle.

I have 70000 k on my 2012 eco and so far its been ok
i have seen 999k to empty and also seen under 800k to empty
best i have seen is 12.5 l/100 and thats cruise set at 120 ave driving and I check wells is about 14 l/100
4 times i have started it up and had it stumble and burp and just wont go like its flooding or something shut it off restart and its fine. cost me 80 bucks at for to tell me they dont know whats wrong
seems if it doesnt have a code they cant fix it
but i do like the truck fuel mileage is decent for a truck and lots of power
as for the dodge hemi debate, my son has one of them and he gets as good mileage as i do maybe better sometimes and the power is very similar the ford might have a bit more but very close
i think nowdays they are all very comparable and all make a good truck just whatever preference you have
would like to see the new dodge 1/2 ton with a diesel should be out soon
cant go by what the dealer says you have to test drive and see for yourself

Might have to try that with mine. Can't get it to throw a code and still does the fall on its face stumble bull chit.
Runs insane before that happens have had all plugs and coils changed and the deflector and cooler "update" done as well
Mileage sucks on mine too got better with my 5.4 mine as I get about the same as what your getting and that's with running the sct programmer as well

Sorry fella, but I don't believe you. I ran one all last winter and empty the best i could get was 15L/100. The worst I got was 46L/100(if I could find the pic I would post it), now that was -30 into a big head wind and my foot in it quite hard, pulling a 20' enclosed with 2 sleds in it. Burnt 127L in 186km. but even driving down QE2 with cruise set at 120 I never saw less than 15L/100 on average of 200-300km

That's nasty. You sure don't see those numbers in any Ford propaganda. I guess at the end of the day, half tons aren't meant to pull anything substantial, or at least do it well.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't believe how well it pulled especially in those circumstances. Unbelievable really considering it is a V6 gas job, just not good on fuel.

Sounds like the way to go is the 5.0l. The ol ladys 2011 is great 63 000 trouble free km, 11-13l/100km normal driving and 18l pulling the 30' travel trailer at 100- 110 kph from PG to Edmonton. You can't beat a V8!

Sounds just like my 5.3 GM. That's not bad at all!

When my truck was running good, I was getting 19L/per 100 pulling an X-star, high 14,000 lb mark, through the mountains. I'm thinking thats pretty respectable. But since it started acting up, she's gone in the toilet. The V6 pulls like a champ when its running right. And it isn't happening to all of the trucks. My brother in law bought one, and he has had 0 issues, and great fuel mileage. Seems like its a hit miss kinda thing.
