It's like asking why Cadillacs cost more! Polaris may be on to something! but they haven't made a reliable sled in years that's why they are cheaper so people would buy them! If they were the same price as doo, I really don't think any one would of risked buying one.

Okay I get they are light, but what makes the pro rmk work so well or even what is the majority reason other than weight they work so well? My buddies 155 is impressive all around and on the dyno is showed a whopping 134hp yesterday, the guy running the dyno said both the 800 etec and 800HO are neck and neck on avg 155-165, any ideas as to what's the majority reason? I know neither of my cats will out pull it and neither my buddies freeride 154 or 163 etec with clutching will keep up either, the 63 did outclimb it on a hill climb in allen creep but the other pro 163 in our group got higher than him. Not like it really matters I'm gonna replace the freak one day and be that guy saying my m is still the best but I like learning the dynamics is all

I can assure you that motor has more than 134 hp. Maybe its a typo and should be 154?

eek really? clutching is a personal preference item. they all make similar track speeds moving up the hill so clutching is not a factor if they are all maintaining rated rpms during the climb.

Really? Clutching can make or break a sled.

I can and won't be posting or getting into it, but the owner just joined up the other day so he will be posting base dyno run with sheets, the mods listing and install/work done, the location all the work is being done and the final outcome dyno run with sheets for you guys, so I can't go stealing his thunder, hoping monday or tuesday to have it back we have a bunch of cosmetic work to do before the 21st(first ride in vake weather pending) and a belt drive and a couple other little things, the shop doing the work is pushing him to display so if he won't I will go grab them and put them up
I would say your dyno guy needs to have his dyno calibrated.

My sled would only have 180 hp on that dyno. Ouch. Then it wouldnt be so fast.

Hey I have an idea. Bring it to Alberta Beach and see how how it stands up to the CRAPPY wedge. Then well see who has a GAY sled.

But your still not riding YOUR sled!!!

Sorry to hijack this, which was once a highly imformative thread.

Ya but out of all the stock clutch setups Polaris clutching performs no better

Yes it does, you can make the Doo clutch work ok with venting and quick clickers using up more hp to maintain , let's say equality. But out of the box, stock clutch to stock clutch, Poo clutch definitely performs better. Far less tuning required, lots of guys actually leave it stock.

Well......... The pro was in tear down and cracked cylinders at 850km, Polaris is saying its the first one yet, so I wouldn't say the dyno was correct although it is close I'm sure, needless to say the results of the mods will be delayed now until we receive the warranty cylinders and start the work, hoping 10-14 days to get the outcome for everyone
