Just finished putting my fifth wheel in mine and had to go try it, it's unreal what that thing can do! 120kph down highway and just cruises along like nothing! About 9400lbs and 32' trailer. Do notice that I don't have my heavy diesel up front anymore! But well worth the buy. Wasn't sure going from 3/4 ton Duramax to 1/2 ton but have no regrets as of yet. Just need to add air bags and all is good.

got 42000km on mine now and love it. i have a puma bumper pull weighs 10800 lbs ready for the lake pulls it awesome and yes it is a bit harder on fuel when udrive it hard if i back mine off to 95-100km/hr it will get 12-13mpg. my only complaint so far was the low clearance and the lack of leaf springs in the back. $550 for leveling kit and airbags fixed that.

for the guys wondering about fuel i tried reg and premium, no power differance but seemed to gain 1-2 mpg with the premium

I have a 2011 with just about 60k on it now, and I pull a 28' car hauler style steel enclosed. I definitely agree on fuel making a difference, if you run regular with no ethanol it's ok, run good premium gains mileage both loaded and empty and ethanol blend gas makes my mileage go all to hell. Pulling 4 fat Yamahas it'll hang with any of the diesel trucks I've come along, infact they get a bewildered look on their face as I roll on by in the hills! I can make great mileage while driving on the air weapons range with the cruise set at 80 k it will make 9L per 100 km, on the highway at 115 k it drops to 13-14L per 100km depending on conditions. I'd try a 6.2L but I honestly felt that my EcoBoost is quicker and pulls better than the 6.2 Harley Edition I tried out plus it gets better mileage while driving empty.

Anyone else have any other info on this subject? I am considering upgrading my 2010 5.4 f-150 to an ECO boost.
Currently towing a 23' enclosed

I get about 22 L / per 100 km towing a enclosed . Regular 12.5 L/per 100 km at 120 km. I guess anything is the chits on fuel when towing.

I have a 2011 Dodge with a hemi, and i got 21.6L per 100km pulling my sled trailer to Valemount. I thought the the Ecoboost was supposed to get better milage than that. Kept it at 115 the whole way.

I have a 2011 Ecoboost CC with 3:73 gears. I have owned many 3/4' 1 ton and 1/2 ton trucks, both diesel and gas.

The Ecoboost is the best towing 1/2 ton on the market. The most usable power and the best overall mileage. I get about 12l/100km empty in real world driving, 16l/100km pulling my 14ft enclosed Floe and 22l/100km with my 23 ft NASH bumper pull holiday trailer. The best part is towing mostly in 6th gear at 1800 rpm, instead of 3000 rpm in almost any other 1/2 ton.

No doubt that a diesel 3/4 or 1 ton truck pulls better but the ride and everything else is not as good when empty. I have 30,000km on my truck (mostly towing) with zero problems.

Good to hear... My 2010 F-150 CC 5.4L currently tows my 23' Stealth enclosed at 2200 rpm on the flats. I'm extemely impressed with this truck! I'm thinking the Eco-boost can only be better,... it seems the 3:73 gears is a must.

Thanks for the info.... .

I have an Eco boost 3.55 gears 7200 gvw my wife f150 6.2 with 3.73 7700 gvw. They both pull great but honestly just for towing I prefer the eco. For everyday I prefer the 6.2, sounds great has a really nice torque curve and feels mannly to drive rather than the weed whacker turbocharged Eco. Mileage wise same towing, Eco gets 1.5l/100 better overall than the 6.2 everyday combined driving.

What I don't like about the Eco for towing, the nose of the truck is flighty, it's too light and surfs, the 6.2 is 200lbs heavier and makes the nose feel planted.

U guys and Ur Fay , gay 1/2 tons.

Come on. U cant pull what a 3/4 ton up can.

First off that's like a 3/4 gas job pulling a 50 foot cyclone toyhauler.

The trailer weighs way more than the truck and pushes it all over ect..

Please don't kill some one with Ur overloaded 1/2 ton.

1/2 with a sled deck and 2 sleds on it.:thumbdown::thumbdown:

Ur going to flop over with that load.

Ok w.t.h is the diff ???

1250 lbs hitch weight from a 5th wheel or 1000 plus with a travel trailer.

Still too much or a 1/2 city truck.

The trailer will still over ride the truck.

For what the stick says Ur able to tow.

they are rated to tow 11,700....I think a 5th wheel may be over on the rear GAWR but a 30' bumper pull is certainly within their rated towing capacity.

OK, just have to jump in on this one. 2012 F150 Supercrew, 6.5 box, hairdryer. 50K on it now, 11.5l/100 AVERAGE for a month of 50/50 city and highway empty and no towing. 13l/100 winter same conditions. Now to the towing thing, 4 place enclosed, normal 22l/100 when keeping up to traffic and it will keep up easily. Just got back from a few days in Revy/Sicamous and trip average was 20.1l/100. Traffic was heavy so speeds were down thus mileage goes up. A little hint there for people who care. That little bugger pulls like a turbo motor should. Holds up steep s*&^ like Field no problem. That's my experience and yes I drive it sensibly and take care of my stuff. Expect 300+K from a unit and get it.

Play safe.
