Looks like they are on sale for 1299 at honda. If you lived in the states 1099. Scona cycle or Honda Extreme is what my research is showing. Your other option is to check the pawn shops.:chicken:

The ones in the states don't have cold climate protection.... just sayin..

At T and T we have Yamaha Inverters... epic and awesome too. We always have someone going that way if you want a Yamaha. There is a running Joke.... what's the lonliest place in the world? A Yamaha repair shop.... as they simply run and run.. and run and run.............. and run.... and run... :D :D :D
I will throw in a wonderful and Awesome Snowmobile Movie if you do decide to buy from us,

I think you'll be happy with either choice.. as both are by far top notch companies.. I came from a Honda Dealer, and I am now with a Yamaha Dealer, so I've been exposed to both. One thing I see that is pretty cool over here in Yamaha Land is the EF2400iSHC ... giving you that little bit extra... sometimes a 2000 is simply not enough, and you need just a smidge of extra power sometimes only for start up, so having a little extra oomph gives you peace of mind especially if you're powering up a 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner.

Sledderglen has a Yamaha, I'm not sure if its a 2000, or 3000 but we've camped beside him with it running, and we've used it out working on stuff on the trails, its more than enough to run a skill saw, and its nice a quiet when idling and camping. Until Backseatrider fires up the ceramic space heater in the trailer, then it gets a bit louder :)

I can vouch for the Yammy 2400i...GREAT little genny. I have had one since before I started motorhome camping (trailer days) and can vouch that it WILL run the rooftop AC. The Yams and Hondas are right on par with each other and are excellent, reliable choices.

I cheaped out and bought the 4000 from Cambodian tire works great, it's small, decent in fuel and will power my ax and the microwave at the same time best of all cheap.
That bring said though not as quiet as the others I have camped with both the Yamaha and the Hondas I think I would go with the Yamaha personally if spending that much money quieter and better/more power from my experiences but have never heard of anyone having any issues with either

I love my Honda 2000 as most people don't ever realize that it is running. I see Cycle works is selling Kipor generators which is essentially a Honda knockoff for 899 bucks.

Wow lots of feedback. Thanks very much. I have been a Honda guy since way back but at this point Red or Blue does not make a lot of differacne. I am leaning a little to the Yamama 2400 though. That little extra power can come in handy. I have a couple of small no name units and they are basically junk. I also have a 1975 Honda 850 that I bought new. I keep it at my cabin and it only gets run in the summer. That thing starts second pull every spring and runs perfect all summer to charge the batteries the cabin runs off. Every year that thing amazes me, I been waiting or it to die for 10 years and it just won't.

MOMMA if I go for a Yamai I'll give you a call, thanks for the input.

Go for the Yammi 2400. Buddy has the 2k Honda and will not run the air on his Arctic Fox. I've got the Honda 3k, like everything but its mass. Seems a little harder to get up on the truck every year.

Sooo beware of the ones "just like" honda.. I had my arse reamed out from a lady who bought a "honda like" generator. the sales man said oh ya.. easy to get parts.. so she came and asked me.. she couldn't understand why after only 2 months her generator wasn't working, and why I didn't have parts for it.. "but it looks just like that one".. ya.. close but no cigar.. or parts..

Thank you PowderStew!! let me know.. :)

Mine is an 04 Yam 3000 which has been awesome. Extra power is always nice when the furnance and mic are needed. Only replaced the battery last year with yearly plug and oil.
