I was really planing on square grid much like my four corner head. Ha.

But welding buddy is against that idea as its ugly. Just plane ugly in his books.

Its like standing on the top of a mountain in Pincher Creek with a sheet of ply-wood when the winds are kicking up in the 60 mpr bracket. LOL.

So I guess aerospace technology is the way this build goes.

Cabin on Wheels will be a space ship with lunner lander in the compartment ready too pack space-dude Lem across the land-scapes.

May Day May Day mission control.
This is Astronot Lem Lamb looking for a place too land this bad boy,,, and I'm coming in hot "OVER."

Damed lucky as my auto wrecking pal threw 4 camper Jack's my way.

Crazy how things work out.

About $1200 in saving so far.

Guess I should of named the tread the cheapest new camper build ever. Ha.

Holsteen Kow hide cover might fit in on this project.

Horns to the front with Kow tail at the back.

Nothing wrong with going rodeo my friends
LOL

The box on box is ruffed in and set off too the side, top fold up roof is tacked up.

The camper frame is soon too take shape.

I can see another camper being built so both trucks are ready to roll.

Aero dynamic, light weight and practical for all season use.

Should of built one that I wanted from the get go,,, one that has the proper capacity that is.

I had pretty good luck with the last ones I built, but they won't be any where close to these units.

Iron frame is the way too go, thin wall rocks as its easy to fab and super fun too work with at $O.86 per foot.

She's pretty much a go !!!

Let me introduce you too "Camper Jumbo" prototype #1.

She's a wide body long frame aero-dynamic low roof / pop-up wide door bench edge unit that's is soon too have all the fixings a Jeathrow Bowdean would need in life.

Next proto-type will be 4" taller with slooped front.
Good enough for this low pro.

Only light stuff so long as it's less than 2 Skidoo on the over hang. LOL.

And a big back door incase a 64" bad azz Grizzly Bear shows up at camp site.

Oh yha baby.

And light as a feather for Cabin on Wheels 2 wdr 6 piston. Ha.

A fraction more room, stand-up pop-top when camping.
Frugal too build on funds, Good on gas,, unless Grizzly Bears put up a fight. Pack Quad or sled. Rain proof, cozy & warm. Wood burning heater too 140.000 TMH... "To Much Heat." LOL.

Exterior options are canvas, plywood, Holsteen Cow hide with fur on the outside.
Sound system too rock Ched Atkins, and lawn chairs made from beaver hides.

Lifes Grande you know.

Lem Lamb getting ready to take on the world...

We have too tables, rotator, shear and brake with gigs in a few weeks.

We're going too rap off a few of these XO SKELETON Campers.

That way folks can build what they want later on.
The frame will last for along time since it won't fall apart,,, and its super lightweight.

The more we make the better cost savings.

Plus they will fit on every truck out there,,, universal idea from day one.

All will be low roof units as they are getting set up for tall quads. Then the roof pops up in camping mode.
Another advantage is everything in the box is locked up at the end of the day,,, and no trailer too pull or store.

Its hard for those of us that are limited for parking room.
This XO SKELETON idea allows us too pack our units at all times any-where we go,,, and all season long.

This will be awesome for winter time Quad with tracks as I can "de-ice" after each ride.

Wood burning stove and a honking big azz fan will make short works of melting unit down with in a hour or 2,,, plus my winter time gear will be dry in the same amount of time... Win Win my friends.

There will be extra room in XO too pack more stuff for all season camping too.

Extra lawn chairs, big azz tarp, table, fuels, parts supplies, and tools.

All the home away from home stuff,,, and at work camps.

My Cabin on Wheels truck will have the back seat bed, 1000 Watt gen-set, office. Dinning room/ living space.

The XO will have the same but with a 2000 Watt gen-set, bigger bed, more room to move around, extra storage, and a moon buggy ready too travel.

Another under frame fuel cell will go onto truck and water tank... This keeps weight low and allows more room in XO.

All lite stuff goes into over hang,,, cooking, bedding, food, and table / chairs.

The limited flat stuff will find home in spots along the walls.

2 awnings with all campers,,, with side and fill Leigth back drops too stop the cold winter winds in their tracks.

3 lanterns too light up the nights.
The full floor become fire wood as the quad can sit on top of it,,, it will burn once the fuel-mix gets it going. Ha.

Bestest build too date, and many more too come.

XO Skeleton life is gooder as it helps us save funds and adds distance too fuel mileage.
Easy on tranny if we keep them low-pro & feather light.

This all happened because of my free Lance wild and Wooly adventure of all season camping,,, or as I call it,,, "living on the road" on a set of wheels."

The dreams come too me in my back seat bed of my truck deep in the mountains of clear star lit nights... The stars connect the dots in paths, directions, and freedoms. Ha... Kind of that is.

Not only does living by wheels allow me too travel freely at fun stuff,,, they take me to work for extended periods of time as well as camping at my many friends places across the Canada's, USA's and soon Mexico's.

My home goes where I go,,, it all started with a 1970 Hays 280" bed truck with a sheet of ply-wood too sleep on in the North West Territories in the winter time...

Dress warm in the winter coveralls in snow storms with door wide open while I had some of the best sleeps in wolf killing fields. "They would circle my wagon at night, but never come too close as they didn't want to encounter the bush man from Hamma-rouka Alberta.

This narrow cab 425 8V92 took me across all of Western Canada moving drilling rigs from Estevan too Siara road North of Ft Nelson for many years.

Bag lunch and my peace of ply-wood was all I needed back then.
Propane trigger torch and old tin pot too melt snow for making coffee too stay awake and log on the miles.

Drive all night too tear out rigs, drive all night too set them up the next day.
Many trips from fall too spring while catching the odd hour hear and there on 25 hour days. LOL.

Didn't take long for me too turn the days into 36 hour runs per day." wise in creative billing. "

Any-who, this cabin on wheels and now the XO SKELETON will allow me too live at the job sight that we are about too get underway.

Work work work,,, then find lost at the flip of a off switch since unit is 98% loaded less a stop at grocery store and gas station for coffee, and smokes.

The add on will lengthen the over all days away from ground control.

My home is where I am.
Having life with me 25/8 is what its all about.
No need too go home when home is with me.
No property taxes, garbage pick-up, non fixed too one area.

City lights too drifted in roads along the Eastern Slopes of Canada.

Warm dry Shelter, variety of food, and water is all humans need... For this non human that is.

Free Lance is lots of fun as it allows me too meet many folks across our lands,,, and too be lost in new areas.

Reporting from cabin on wheels "office up front." soon I'll have more room too function at mass capacity when the unit comes together.

Extra room will be well worth the effort.

$220 XO Skeleton is coming along nice.

Legs and pop-top is complete.

We're still deciding on exterior stuff as we go.

XO Skeleton 1.0 will fit the tasks at hand for now, but we're heading strait into project 3.10 on the next build.

Super easy and lots of fun learning some new ways to cut labour time too.

The savings are crazy, should of been doing this long before now.

Lem at adding too the mix.

Not really a rocket so too speak,,, more like a big brick. Ha

The shell is complete.
.

I like it alot.

Now for the Holstein Kow hide cover.
Horns too the front with tail at the back.

The lift up top is some sweet as it makes more room for kitchen living room combination.

There will be lots of storage in this bad boy.

Can't express in words the feeling of pride in this project.

I'll fit it onto dodge tomorrow.

I see it fitting on that long box lumber wagon better.

The little Ford will get the 3.0 camper on the next build.
Space age materials go into this next series as it is easier to work with, even lighter weight over this first unit.

Just saved $20 G + thanks too the Red Deer sales dude that told me too build my own then. LOL

He told me that there ain't very many monkeys out there that can put them together, guess he didn't realize that I'm friends with a Donkey and Kow and we've wrecked more stuff than any monkeys can.

Always good times as the new home away from home takes shape.

Pretty cool setup! Hope it works out really well! What I ended up doing for me and family was buying a trailer then gutting it and spray foamed the entire inside....never got time to test it in winter yet but the setup hasn't been very cheap so far, good luck to ya !

Thanks Ronaha. Alway glad to share on ideas that can save us funds if we wish too do stuff our selves.
This camper box 1.0 is a fast track build as it alines us for the next one coming up.

The camper shell / Skeleton is well planned, but the rear mounting hardware looks out of place, so back to the drawing board too clean it up a bit.

I have many different options for sheeting it in, so I'll plan things out before attacking that part of the project.

The number one idea still remains at easy and simple too do threw out the whole project.

Just visited with my RV brother as he's in the know.

Here's the siding options on the table.
Aluminum, tin, fibreglass, vinyl siding, canvas-tarp, stretched Holsteen Cow hide, tin-foyal, garbage bags, cement blocks, clay & sand, and of course ply-wood.

Well it looks like in the cost idea that the ply-wood won-out.

RV Brother said why won't it Lem,,, new ply-wood with the new product "Dur A Deck" rocks.

5 gallons in any colour I want, and I'll never have too touch it again.

It's rock proof, no Hail damage, Grizzly Bear chew proof, Kow Horn scratch tuff, tip over 60 mpr scuff resistance, water proof, lightning bolt non attractive, and the girls will think I look sexy. Ha.

Follow the instructions as that stuff will stick to new ruff edge ply-wood like no bodies business.

LOL,,, dam lucky too have friends that think out side the box.

Now too pick colours and a pattern.

Was thinking of S&M logo of 2 colours, but it's time for those that are following along too throw their 0.02 cents my way.

The winner gets a free coffee with all the fixing in this part of the build.

Can't wait too hear and see lots of ideas and patterns that show up on this thread.

Naked Kows with mountains in the back ground crossed my mind, but it's kinda kinky driving around in the Eastern Slopes of Alberta with something like this. LOL.

Hard too make the Mountains stand out when there is pictures of nice looking Kows with in the picture.

Dam Kows.

Lem

PS: what else might work that I'm over looking folks

I would not use duradeck and plywood , for many reasons ...
Anyways , have you thought of the white rough texture puck board ?
Tough , light , water proof , will not delaminate like plywood and is very easy to work with ...
and is s reasonable price as well , very close once you add the plywood & prep & duradeck coating system .
Cut to fit and just use self tapping screws .
I use lots of it and it is the goods ....
Hope that helps ?
Plastic plus in Edmonton always has lots , but I imagine there are lots of other places who handle it ..
Good luck !
