My buddy had that set up years ago. All he did was T that vent line off and put a line into each pod and used silicone to seal the lines into the pods. Then just hooked it up normal as per the instructions.

If he can make it work he will love it. I had one on my stock 01 800 Cat and it worked great still had the air box. Like Neilsleder said if he can tap into each pod it should work. The part that usually mounts in the airbox just needs to be mounted near the pods to be exposed to the air the motor is sucking in. I was amazed how well my sled ran after I put it in. I never had a problem with it running too rich when I got up in the alpine.

I've had good luck with the system but they all had air boxes.

On their website holtzman engineering, inc. the instructions state;

"if there is no airbox, place the compensator in the upper back of the engine compartment away from engine and exhaust heat."

Try emailing/calling them to get the full scoop. I found them always willing to help.
