Recently took out a chain on my Race gas 800XM turbo. its not the chain that i have a problem with replacing its that it took out both side of the chaincase, oil tank, some lines and wiring etc. made a real mess.
looking to strengthen up my drivetrain as its become aparent that running way more HP means things fail even more catastrophically. who knew! LOL!. im new to this
my question iss......
1. is there a stronger chain and gear option?
2. Belt drives? i honestly dont think they can handle the power but i could be wrong!? even if they cant..... replacing a belt is better than replacing your entire drive train like im having too.
3. i had a snowcross friend ask me why i wasnt running a slipper gear....did some research and looks like a cool option!! designed for the snowcross sleds the bottom gear has sort of a slip clutch in it so that under hard loads/impacts the bottom gear slips a little bit instead of grenading the chain. Looks like the best option to me and it is available in 49 tooth right from skidoo race department. wonder if it can handle the HP?
4. driveshaft mods....would like to fix this before i twist another shaft........is there an aftermarket alternative. i may just get the ends plug welded but that wont help the twisting just the seperation.
