HELP-Need new slide rails

On my last ride I was having trouble with my track ratcheting...but could do "Awesome" cat walks. Summitric noticed the problem the next morning as we prepared to head out. I had cracks at the bolt holes on both of my rails.
I'm looking for a set of used 156" (will consider 159") rails that will fit a 2001 800 RMK. If you can help please send me a private message or a post on this thread.

Yep, major catwalks anywhere I wanted to but wouldn't climb worth a darn (like doo's).

New Skid Required

I've changed my plan slightly. I'm looking for a 2002 or newer skid from any brand. 151" to 156" will work. It will be mounted into a 2001 800 RMK.
Let me know if you have one available.

If you need practicing changing out a rear skid you can come and change mine out 1st.......I have everything just need the time and beer to doo it

I can't tell you how good I've gotten at it. Had mine out twice this year and aslo stripped it to the bone trying to find a problem that never did exist.
Usually take it out each year anyway to check it over...a bit of a pain but after a few wobbly pops I keep going.

Way too late for this response. Whats wrong with welding them and then a gusset over top if you want. Never break them there again and wayyyy cheaper.

I looked into that but the metal has been too badly damaged at this point and there was a fear of warping the bottom of the rails. Opted for new custom rails out of the USA.

Hey, thanks for the offer. I've purchased a set of aftermarket 156" rails from the USA. I'm in the process of putting it back together again. Tomorrow I'm post a couple of photos and the story..nothing ever goes as planned.

So I recieved my new 156" rails from the USA a few weeks ago and I thought (didn't investigate enough) that the 2001 Front & Rear Torque Arms would fit a 2002 rail. I was wrong. So I found a some the required parts from a 2003 and started re-assembling the skid last night. Yep, I'm missing a couple of things so I couldn't quite complete it, hopefully I can get them today and continue the project.

Attached are photos of the sled after I dragged it out of the snowbank last night and the "before and after" shot of the skid, as far as I could go.

I was a bit disappointed that the skid didn't get completed. I need the front shock mount and 3 bearings for my rear big wheels and it should be completed and ready to install.

Next step is to pull the front drive shaft and driver to install the new 159" track.

Sorry to hear about all the extra work. I order a set from the same guy and everything bolted right up. I ordered 159'' rails that would fit 9'' wheels with out an offset axle, 2 wheel axle, and 9'' wheels. I also had them anodized black instead of powder coating, so the snow won't stick. All of these item costed less than buying just the rails from Polaris directly. And this guy builds all of polaris's rails.lol

In hindsite, I wish I would have had mine annodized as well.
I went 156 because I'm moving my suspension back for a better attack angle, went to 8" composite wheels. Hey, I Really like your big wheels, where did you get them?

I had Mike build them also. Did your stock rail tips bolt on. I had to get a set from an IQ.

So it's been a frustrating week. Nothing seems to be going as well as I had hoped.
Mostly it's parts that I'm missing or now need because I broke it.
Taking out drives is more work than I thought it would be. Good thing for Wobbly Pops...

Here are a couple things to note if someone, like me, is pulling drivers.

1. C clips that hold the bearing in on the Chain case are brutal to get out..patients...beer...patients.
2. When pushing the driveshaft into the chaincase be very careful, you can damage the seal as I did. Now I have an additional repair to complete.
3. Check the drivers, this is the time to replace them. Mine are shot so tomorrow I go hunting for new ones.
4. Replace bearings, easy now, much harder later.

This is a time consuming project. Takes lots of patients and is nice when it's done...I think, I still have to get repairs and put mine back together. It's also nice to have a second pair of hands, I didn't and I wish I had someone to help....where is Summitric when I need him...drunk in Mexico...lol...

Here are some photos of my drivers, notice how they have begun to spin on the shaft, that could have easily left me stranded in the backcountry on mynext trip.
Rory at Motorsports Addictions is putting new drivers on the driveshaft tomorrow and replacing the seal on my chaincase (that I broke). I purchased new drop brackets because my old ones were broken due to the skid fracturing...such is life.
