Okay gang, so sled season is just around the corner now that the boat is put away and now i have a sudden urge to go buy a new ride. I working a deal on a brand new 2008 XP Everest with 154 track but my dilema is they won't give me ch$t for a trade in. My question is what do you all think is a fair price for my 2004 rev 800 151 track, it's bone stock with roughly 1700km, the only difference since the pic was taken is the side panel decals are gone. I was thinking around $7500 but haven't been paying much attention to the used market lately.

you should be able to get $6500 for it going in to the season, it should sell pretty easy at that price point, I have sold a few. but i am sure trade value would be $4000-$4500, so do it on your own

good luck,

I hate to jack this thread, but I am shopping for sleds all the time and that sled is worth about 5g to someone who knows what they are looking for. I know most people can't rip down to the border to pick up sleds, but if you can get to the border and know the how to lay the paper trail. your can get most sleds 07-08 m1000, m800, rev 8000xp/xrs, polaris dragon 700/800 for between 6 and 9g with all the fixins. I have found low mile m1000's for 6g low miles. I have also seen 08 xp's with low k and lots of add ons for under 7g. you can tack about 8 hundred on for tax, exchange, and riv on those prices but if you want to save a buck its a good option. You will likly get what you ask out of it though, too many albertans p#ssing there money away and believe me I am not judging because I am one of them LOL. Just seems to be the nature of our economy.

I think $ 6000.00 t0 $ 6500.00 would be about what an 04 would fetch. Like it was said in a previous post the first thing that should be done is the rings and possibly the pistons and check those reed valves. Just my:twocents:

Put some new RKtek pistons in it, a pipe, can and reeds and you will love that sled all over again.

Okay, so abit of an eye opener for me, i honestly thought it would be around the $7K mark but like i said haven't been in the market for awhile. When i talked to Martin's he said he would give me between $5-6K depending on the shape of course. It seems to me that alot that have commented said i should add a few mods and keep it....do you guy's not think that the XP isn't worth the extra bucks? Here's the few mods i would do if i decide to keep it: 1)extraverts 2)an 08' XP track 3)clutch quick clickers 4)big wheel kit and lastly i believe it's a dyna moe joe clutch kit. Oh ya somebody mentioned rings, yes i've heard the 04's were real bad on rings "knock on wood" i still have the originals in and she runs like a dream, i heard 3000 kms was the absolute longest. So here's the thing if i do these few mods before you know it your at $2k and for an additional $2K could be riding a brand new XP with warranty. Decisions, decisions. What mods would you guys suggest for me and my girl to be close again.

Yup, set a budget and then we could guess for you........plus give us the list of what has already been done to the sled, so we're not duplicating the improvements........... Roller secondary? Pilot 6.9 or simmons skiis?? See what i mean???

The sled is bone stock with a MBRP can and a set of Simmon's skis, i could probably save a thousand bucks by porting my old track, but sure like the look of XSYOURRIDE's with that XP track. Other than the weight would the XP track give me an edge over the next guy with a rev and an old track? I don't think i should spend any more than $2000 otherwise i'll buy new. Pistons, rings and gasket kit are 500 bucks.....already called.

To up grade to a new sled for $4,000 from an 04 to 09 doesn't sound to bad

No, no it's an 08 XP, here's some numbers:

08 XP $10,995 - 04 REV $7000 = 3995 difference:d
09 XP $13,000 - 04 REV $7000 = 6000 difference:(

Does any one have any names of Ski-doo dealerships in around Montana area, only reason for Montana is i can make the trek over a week-end with-out missing any time at work.

I would say if Martian will give you $6000 on trade, go for it. Why bother trying to sell it yourself for a possability of a couple xtra bucks. 04 to 08 is a big jump in tech, you won't be disapointed. But if you want to wrench and mod, yes I agree its fun but it will always be a 04 so if you throw $4000 at it dont exspect to get that $4000 out again. Look in the classifieds highly modded sleds dont get thier money back. If you are looking for a vote I say 08 or 09 XP. pull the rope and go.My 2 cents
