Has anyone rode a mountain Viper and the cat mountain 4 stroke turbo

I had a 2012 m1100t sno pro 162 with a 215hp Evo reflash. Got a Viper this year stretched to 162 and mcx turbo put on. Hands down I'd rather have a Viper not just cause there's more power. Handles and rides better than the cat. The power delivery isn't as smooth on the Viper tho compared to the cat. Cat didn't seem to have as much lag at elevation. Just my .02

Dammit i wrote a review on the cat 1100t and the viper i rode over the weekend for yah and it didn't post. long story short i prefered the viper over the cat because of the engine.

I rode m9onnos viper with 174x3 and a boost it kit and I liked it enough to snow check one for myself, I have rode pros for the last few years and I love them but to my surprise the vipers handles awesome, I have also stopped in at the boost it shop and seen a 14 with the vertical steering post, and it felt way better than with out so I can't wait to build mine next year, they are heavier than a 2 stroke but I'm a big guy and I love the power I don't think these sleds are going to be for everyone but it felt great to me!

Rode a 14 viper and a 14 cat back to back. Viper had the 180 HP kit and a 3 inch 162. If I would. Of had to buy one of those machines it would of been the cat because it had way less turbo lag and had vertical steering. But I don't think the Viper was set up properly. Would be nice to try a 15 Viper With vertical steering. The nice thing about the viper is its going to be lighter then the cat because the engine whieghts less. You proabley can't go wrong with either.

I liked the smooth throttle response and it honestly felt lighter and it seemed effortless to lay it down and do a s$@"hook on a side hill. The viper was nice but I personally felt the cat worked better for me, setup could have made a differance as well , would have liked to have each for half a day, hard to judge after a ten minute ride. I think my next turbo may be the cat though!

No the cat had a 240 kit in it, hard to compare again as the viper was only 180, explains the weight differance as well

Haven't been on a viper yet but on the third season with the cat. Narrowed and vertical steering. Few goodies on it. Still working on clutching but other than that if it had a bigger track it would go anywhere I'm willing to try and place I'm not. Spent this weekend in the trees with it and other than having to work it alittle more it was actually quiet fun. Down hill turns are a little tricky but once it's on its side it holds the hill really well. The only time I notice the weight is when having ride on packed snow. Anything more than 6" and it handles just as well as the 2 strokes. Unless they come out with something radical for 2 stroke in the next year or 2 I will be buying another one from terry, been happy so far with this one.

Help me get an idea what the big deal is with the weight of the Viper. Would it be heavier than my 2004 RMK vertical edge 800???

I only get 4 or 5 trips in to the mountains every year. First year was stock and didn't have much problem but last year and this year I got all the extras on it and that seems to be where it all started from. I don't think they built the 12' drive train strong enough to handle the extra power. I'm at 3000 km and went through about 6 belts.

If a guy adds more boost or power in the off season between season 2 and 3, I'd fully expect him to be still figuring out clutching in the 3rd season........

just sayin'.........
