Has anybody tried the Apha rail brace?

Asking for a friend.

Which brace is said friend referring to? Lots of options out there for braces, and all braces cover different sections of the rail. Some braces brace the entire rail. Most rail failures have happened simply because of incorrect shock pressures, and bottoming out the suspension on the rail, or hitting objects under the snow. Pic is of the TKI brace which is one of the more common braces and would brace the area of the most concern the bump stop location.

I don't have the brace but when the rails break the cracks are by the antistab, pop rivet behind the antistab and by the cutout shown on the TKI brace.

If the rail brace is not full length it is kind of pointless.

That is the second location they break yes, and is usually caused from hitting something like a rock or a stump. When it cracks along the bump stop, that is usually from bottoming out the suspension. I have yet to see any braces for the front portion, just guys re drilling and throwing in extra rivets up top near the anti stab.

I’m going to take my chances and not run any type of a brace

There may be a corollation between bolts backing out, clutch failures and the Alpha rail cracking. I see that people have said “I didn’t hit anything” or they can’t remember a big hit. It is entirely possible harmonics may be at play.

This is getting weirder everyday.

Vibration and harmonics do travel, this could be possible!

I’m gonna say the rails are not subject to the same harmonics as the other hard parts that are attached to the machine. The rail is far too detached and insulated to be affected. They may have their own harmonics, but again I firmly believe not enough to crack or weaken them. And I’d put my retirement cheque’s on that.
