Well there's only one way to settle this.....SNOW!!!!!!!! I for one would genuinely like to see LHF'S wedge work no sarcasm here i know a guy that had a mod wedge back and the day it wasn't anything close to freaks and that thing shocked me it wasn't the king of the hill but for a wedge it sure went far and was fun to watch.
Ill be seen this season. Some people need to understand that the new iron may not be the way to go.

These guys ride the steep and deep on 155 & 153's, but they are not poking at the massive chutes that I think LHF is talkin about. Take a look at the big turbos that are running at Revy and places like that. They are running 162" and up with aftermarket suspensions to keep the front end down. You can run a shorter track for the short steep pulls, but they don't work when you are WOT for 30+ seconds with big hp, they stand on their tail and you lose all your track speed. This has been my experience in 30+ years of mountain riding anyways (feeling old when I say that :crutch:).[/QUOTE
The second sled in this vid is a 2012 Assault that Boost-It built. Stock 155 track with Racers Edge skid. The Apex that has a mechanical issue in the vid is roughly half way up the chute. The Cat turbo that gets stuck...needs some work.monster chute revy yamafest 2012 - YouTube

Quick question. I'm a fairly new rider and have only seen monster chute in vids. Is it doable on a stock etec 154" or is a turbo needed?

I do believe that Monster has been done on a stock 800 sled (HO Motor??) in spring conditions, by one of the most talented and experienced riders in the mountains. (I'm referring to Frenchie) You, me, LHF and the guy next door wouldn't make it even with a turboed sled. Go stand at the top of Monster and look down, then we will talk :)

I guess I have to be a little more explicit; if it keeps the front end down and you are going downhill does that mean it "submarines"?

See where I'm coming from?
No it is so light it just floats on top of the snow. See where Im coming from?

So you are comparing this wedge to an older beetle with the motor in the rear. That's the only way I can see the front end floating while coming downhill in 4' of pow.

Maybe that comment on another thread about MM6 being hosted by you would be a good eye-opener......hahahaha

He can't, remember? Big Bertha took the whole seat up, herself.

Thanks Neil, I learned something today. I gotta say your Boost-It system is working very well sir, watched a few vids on Boost-It and it's quite impressive.

Pointless thread but if you wanna put that relic rainbow against my 153turbo I'm sure I could arrange that in valemount this winter, I like classic sleds like I like my classic trucks but reality is they are too advanced outta the gate to compete, half the modded classics out there can't touch a stocker and you wanna call out a turbo??

Do you honestly think turbos with a 153 rock? Well I know what the hardest 2 yrs of your life were. Grade 1. Then I noticed you ride a 2012 Proclimb. Im not sure what is worse a turbo 153 or a Proclimb.

I want a turbo 136, with stacks and flames. In all seriousness, doesn't the old wedge only have a 156" 2 1/2" on it?
