I got a 2014 xm that is not quite pulling the same rpms as last year. Same hills, elevation, clickers, ect compared. Everything else looks alright. Has anyone ever had injectors gum up over summer. I may have forgot to add conditioner in the spring. Anybody ever have this? Not sputtering or anything just seems like I lost a few ponies on the top end.

How many km/miles? I would bet more so on clutch springs and dirty clutches than injectors limiting performance.

I'd start by changing out both springs and give the clutches a thorough cleaning. That's just me though.

Agreed, I would also look at clutches first but they are spotless and inspected with all worn components replaced. Around 2000km on machine. New reeds this fall so thats out too.

Welll, then. Run some Seafoam through er and see if that changes anything.

Fuel filter? Restricting fuel at high flow rates. You may perhaps be on the right track with Injector issues.

Ya you say all worn components replaced? Worn by who's standard? Both springs should be changed with that KM and good cleaning. I bet that fixes RPM issues.

New primary and secondary spring as well as rollers due to one being cracked, also new plugs before first ride....... not my first rodeo

Ok how much of a rpm loss are you talking about than??

You seem to have done a lot for only 2000km you sure you put the same springs in?? How was the primary bushings, did they measure out ok?

I'm having a similar problem, last year ran on 3 clicker setting and first ride this year had to run clicker five and still only got 7700-7800 on the digital tach. Pulled the reed valves all is good, cleaned clutch, compared spring to new and the same. Measured bushings all in spec. Having a hard time tracking this one down. Next going to pull the rave vales. Any one else??? Even checked compression, 140 ish on both sides.

I dont think mines related to snow condition as other units in the group still pulln hard numbers. Was pretty light and fluffy so wasn't like we were pushn spring slush.

The snow reports I've been hearing is deep with a hard crust base that can be broke through, not sure if you've experienced the same. I have not been out yet but this topic has me very curious.

My experience is the clicker numbers go down the later in the season yah go, but I don't ride in big + temps during the spring.

Have you tried a new belt? Checked the deflection? I'm not saying there isn't a injector problem but I'd think if there was a issue the comp would throw a cel.

Explain how you stored the sled, u use fuel stabilizer and run the engine.

You will need a BUDS system or scan tool for your sled to recalibrate the raves if you pull them. Just a heads up.

You said you changed the reeds, did you replace with oem? And I'm curious if the butterfly is opening 100%. I wonder if the TPS is cal'ed right. Also need a budds to check.

Truthfully bud I'm wondering if you should wait and get a couple of more rides in and see if it is snow related.

Rode Mcbride and had about 2.5/3' of fresh light stuff. Usually i just put fuel conditioner and run er for a few minutes and forget about it for the summer but as stated I might have forgot last spring. Cant remember doing it by I have the memory of a gold fish, I might have done it.

Ok so I have n 09 M8 but it ran great 2weeks ago ,and yesterday it was running very underpowered and started to backfire. So I filled up with premium to dilute the stabilized coloured fuel and no change. All the plugs were fireing but one cyl was very wet. So I pulled the injectors and blew them out with compressed air and swapped them and now it's perfect again. So that's what an injector problem was like for me.
