Really what is it like? I have never been in the area... lol

You realize when you're sledding they are sleeping right? Lol. Spend as much time in the summer as far back in the mountains as you winter I bet you would be ok with grizzly hunting

cause it makes you feel warm and fuzzy to save a life right ? LOL. Every animal has a right to live , right ? Guys go sledding in winter and ride a bike on trails a few times in summer, and are experts in wildlife management, sustainability of different species, and understand how to balance these things with the constantly changing effects of nature. I say lets leave these decisions to the wildlife experts, the experienced hunter/trapper people who have a vested interest in the continued health of all wildlife and understand the nuances that most of us don't have a clue. But yep , lets give credence to the winter sledders and summer once in a while campers and even worse, so many city-fied , uneducated moronic politicians and dumbassed movie stars who have strong opinions but very limited personal experiences to even have an opinion, let alone a viable one.

no because there is only 15,000 left in Bc and about 1000 in Alberta.
id say my opinion is just as valuable as yours...

but not as valuable as what trophy hunters figure, because they are unbiased lmfao!!!

all the "experts" on S&M will tell you there is more grizzly
than black bears. When a quick google search will tell you,
that you don't know ****...

any ways I know this would be a unpopular opinion here
on the Rebel

If you guys seen the amount of grizzly and black bears here, and the lack of deer and moose, you would understand the bears numbers are too high

You need some deer? We can ship a bunch over to you.

Maybe he should ship you a grizzly or 2 to take of your deer! Or we will get you a few wolves that everyone loves, there's lots of those where I used to hunt. But don't hunt there cause they killed off the deer and moose. Few packs of those and deer problems disappear.

Maybe if they even the playing field alittle, bow hunting for grizzly bears only, make it alittle more fairer instead of behind a rifle at 100 yards.

You can "lmfao " all you want, that doesn't make you right , in fact it may just illustrate you're just part of the sheep crowd.
How many should there be to be balanced in nature ? Does the population of Grizzlies rise and fall based on climate ? salmon runs ? moose or caribou birth rates ? Forest fires ? Should there be 19000 today cause there used to be ? Does Mother Nature play a role in the rise and fall of grizzly numbers ? Does the increase in activity in backcountry in winter and summer reduce population ? Do the dollars derived from trophy hunting do enough good things for wildlife management to justify it ?
I'm not saying I know all the facts, but I'm certain an awful lot of the loudest opponents , have formed their opinions based on silly uneducated emotions and lots of others from the media , most often more concerned with ratings and someone's personal agenda than fact.

lets see there is around 2million deer in Alberta and 1000 grizzly
30million deer in the us. They can double in numbers
in 2years left unchecked.

and some guys here cant even find a deer to shoot lol

at work and too hard to type to argue with fools who arguement

is '' I want me a bear rug jumbo"

there could be 1 bear left and some idiot would want to shoot it.

that is why we need the government to stop you idiots.

btw I have guns and I hunt. Grizzly tastes like ****, NO
valid reason to hunt one. If # come up one day
sure open the hunt back up.

Grizzlies have a very very high mortality rate, not many make it
to maturity. I know a lot
about them actually, but no need to get into it with you.

Well the mom grizzly that has been on the cambie end ( between sicamous and Malikwa) has produced 3 cubs every 2 years for at least 10 years, from what I have been told, and have seen the last 2 sets

She seems to be fine, but all her cubs are little pricks, this summer the conservation officers had to relocate all 3 cubs after she kicked them out, there were doing bad things, even tried to enter a few houses

So as for mortality rates, in my area I.d say there's none, other areas sure I suppose

Was just pointing out the mortality stats

Don't much care if they open season on them or not

But the numbers need to be kept in check, so what ever that takes I guess

i just read a lil Tidbit on the 3bears they moved. co officers say they hope the
3 females survive the move because they represent significant importance
to the Columbia valley grizzly population. But they are at a greater risk of dieing
because of the move.

Not many bears in the area. Just lots of people....

what ever though, this conversation is pointless.

Bears take up a lot of area and Grizz in particular don't like to share their areas.
In the same area are coyote (fawn killers), wolves and cougars.

Man has drastically altered the ranges and food sources (the odd time for the better)
Numbers need to be kept in balance and mother nature can not do it alone it man made changes.

What are sustainable numbers, beats me.
That's what F&W is for.
Unless you are trained and in the F&W mix you don't know.

NDP, Greens and every other group just in it for their own reason - truth has nothing to do with it. Votes and grants .....you bet.

Jut sayin like the caribou the bears are just pawns for some ones needs.
Definatly not in it for the bear.

How to cull and when was developed by F&W and stopped by NDP..........hmmmmmm.

Oh and I am not a bear hunter either.

you ever been hunting grizzly with just a bow?

Nope I have no need to hunt a grizzly, not starving so,I just think its a lot fairer with a bow, then if the bears gets you first they win,you get him then you can actually say you hunted a grizzly,2 or 3 guys out with high powered riffles and powerful scopes ain't to fare for the bears,if the population gets out of control sure have limited entry but let's see if we get there, besides we need more ways of population control in the human species, the bear aware will survive the less bright won't,😀

We do need population control for humans! But that's a whole new thread.
