Grizzly 700 vs Brute force 750?

Hey guys I currently own a 2009 can am outlander 800. I am thinking about selling it and getting a grizz or Kawi. I love the power of the outlander but I am sick of how heavy the front end steering is and how it nose dives hard in the corners when riding hard. I don’t use it for snow plowing now due to the heavy steering. I use a older Honda but the new quad will be used for snow plowing/hunting and some trail riding. I am wondering what years are the best for the grizzly and the brute? Does the brute have power steering ? Which one is more reliable and user friendly?

The Brute will have a bit more power than the Giz and a lot more torque but IMO the Grizzly is a better machine, easier to work on, and about as reliable as they come.

That said, if your Outty is still in good shape and not taking you to the bank with repairs, you'd probably be way better hanging onto it. ...you'll really miss the power if you go to a Grizz or Brute. You just need new shocks is all - they have a very finite life span and it's definitely time after 10 years. You might be able to rebuild them but I'm not sure if you can rebuild stockers. Better yet, try some Fox or Elkas - they're definitely spendy but will completely transform your machine.

just change the pimary spring 20$ and a set of 28"-30 zillas and your good to go

To me the best grizzly years are 2009-2013, after that they made the frame bigger wider and higher,

Having ridden both a 2016 brute and many different years of Grizzly I strongly have to disagree. The brute was and also felt way heavier than any Grizzly I’ve ever ridden. It has more torque and did wheelie easier but in the mud the griz way outperformed it.

Reliability wise the griz was way less maintenance and held up much better. Also resale on the brute is second from the worst of all atv’s.

To the OP the brute will feel more like your canam which I have also owned but you will find the griz more than does the job.

Agree with the above about the shocks especially if they are just the oem gas filled shocks.. Upgrade to fox or elka and it will be a night and day difference. You may be able to find a set of OEM fox shocks for cheap in your area of a newer machine for cheap

Grizzly is one of the most reliable quad out there. It doesn’t have the power the others have but has enough to do everything. But I also am a Kawi fan. I loved my brute force.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, The quad only has 1200 km on it so I would hope the shocks are not blown yet. I have also installed the can am HD front springs which did help but it still feels very heavy in the front and just a heavy quad all around. And when I use it for hunting i am usually a 2 hour truck drive back into cell service and I don’t have a lot of trust in the reliability of it sometimes.

What all do you like better on the grizz then the outlander ?

I’ve had an outlander 1000, kingquad 750, kingquad 700 and Grizzly 700. Only thing good about the 1000 was the power/cool factor, but was so so heavy. Much preferred the lightness/nimbleness of the Kingquad/Grizzly. Locking front end is nice so you can slowly make you way through stuff, whereas the 1000 you need throttle everywhere.

Grizzly’s: Best bush quad, everything is well thought out. Terrible on sidehills. Better power than kingquad.

Kingquads: Best sport quad. CVT exhaust low, not enough clearance on CV’s so mud/grass/ice gets stuck easy. Easier to find good used deals over Grizzly’s, too expensive new though.

Another vote on the grizzly, may not have the power of the brute but it’s a good reliable machine.

I have a grizzly, it my second one, 1st had 5500 km and no issues 2008, my current is a 2014 and gotta have close to 3000k and again no issues. I like because how light it feels, never be king of the mud holes but I’m over that.

Funny, in most situations, I found my Grizz to be better in the mud than my Outty - Grizzly is light with better ground clearance. However, the Outty definitely wins of it's something I can wheelie over.

if it’s got a little base and you can tread through without chewing then yes it does very well but a straight up hole that needs tire spin it suffers, my kid has a 850 xmr and it kicks my butt, the 850 is just heavier and you feel it.

Think they are are both great machines just serve different riding styles. The grizzly is just over priced imo

I don’t think they are overpriced considering what other 700 and 800’s are worth. Pretty much in the ballpark. Hell a 500cc Rubicon with independent suspension almost costs more.

The kingquad hasn’t really changed since 2005, unlike the competitors. I don’t understand how they charge $10k? Grizzly’s are worth it as they hold value better, Kingquads won’t.
