Gripper skis on a Doo

Fixing to put a set of Grippers on my XM, I've got the skis but still need the hardware to install. I'm planning on using the Doo rubber stop and Polaris bolts, nuts, washers and spacers. Anyone else put Grippers on their sled and if so, how did you go about it? I've got a plan but thought I'd check and see how others did theirs.

Center the bushings - spindle

I had to add a washer to both sides between bushing and ski on both mine, I used doo rubber, and one has Polaris aluminum bushings, other I cut the plastic doo one in half

Yup leave in the Center. Still riding with the Polaris skis around 5000km so far was away to twitchy and unstable with the doo ones . 2014 xp with the s36 front end

No Idea about mounting them. But a guy in our group (turbotundracole) toasted a set of ds2 spring riding in our group. Then put on grippers, couldn’t stand them. Then put on dS3 and Likes for alpine riding. Says ds2 is a nice cross for trail mountain riding, middle of road spectrum from dS3 and grippers.
DS3 is more Darty on trail, but hold edge better and react quicker counter steering in alpine. Says he found the grippers nice on trail but sleds likes to push them aggressively riding on snow when trying to grab an edge.

Grippers side hill and hold lines way better

Yes with a 174 3 inch, the grippers have less keel to steer with

I plan on centering them like I did with the stock skis, I’ve still got to buy the Polaris hardware so I can get them mounted. Is there a difference between the G4 spindles/skis and the XM?

I went to John Deere and bought the bolts there. Way cheaper than polaris dealerships. Just look up the bolt on the polaris parts diagram and get the description. That was the only place I could find in Red Deer that had that long of bolt in stock.

got mine at Greg's Distributing M10 X 150mm if memory serves me correct (had 3/8 X 6" first and was sloppy)

Well I ended up buying all Polaris hardware and got them mounted using the Doo rubber. I trimmed the edges underneath so they’d fit the ski instead of grinding the ski ribs down like some people have done.

I did have to add an additional washer on each side to fill in the gap but they are snug with no play. Can’t wait to try them out next winter.

Here’s a pic of the Grippers on my XM. Went for a ride a yesterday to test them. Snow was really setup and hard but when riding on the trails the Doo stock skis would dart like crazy, these did not and I had much better control of my sled. For this alone it was worth swapping to Grippers.

These work so well I put a set on my wife's sled. Why can't Ski Doo make ski's that work like these Grippers, no wobble or twitching while riding trails to the goods and float well on the pow.

My new cat skis are real close to the same ski, so there staying in for now
