Had a 05 summit and just got a 09 summit x 163. Had it out for a little tear today and I really like it. Didn't take long in the ditch to see that a vent kit would be needed bad, the front just funnels the snow in. Never pushed it very hard, but noticed that it seemed to had a little bog some where in around 5-6 thousand. Is that just because it is new? hope we get some more snow and a guy can take it out for the day.

I just ordered the Grill etc pre filtre kit from Ski doo. They say that not very many people get them but I do not want that snow melting in the front end a creating a 10 or 20 lb weight in the front. I have also pulled the air box out and drilled two 3 inch holes in the box and then glued bug screen over it to allow air in when the air gets blocked off in the front. :d

Where on the box did you drill the holes and does it work? I was thinking about doing that to my 05 rev

My 09 has a spring loaded intake on the airbox, about 2" dia. If the filter is plugged the vacum opens the hole??? Just my take on how this works as I have not seen one before.
