Just finished installing the skid in a Pro RMK.

I know JP, Niel, and a few others are running them.

Anyway my question is on the rigidity of the rear shock. On mine if i put all my weight on the rear bumper I get no movement at all. If I put all my weight on it and jump a little then it moves. It seems a little stiff to me.

What are yours like?

Ya that's to tight, when you apply your weight to the bumper it should drop a few inches for sure, set the rear preload eight clickers out.... That's a good starting point

Ya ok, I figured it was to tight. I had it loosened off as much as it would go and no movement. Maybe Darrel got the setup wrong.

I've installed 7 or 8 of those for customers and Daryl had it perfect right out of the box every time. It's possible it's too stiff but your better to ride first. They break in a bit as well. If your still having problems, give Daryl a call on tues. Best suspension on the market in my opinion. Dan

Mine needed a baker adjustment on the hill after I flipped it twice over backwards, that or the beggar did it on purpose... Lol

yes after now six years with his skids, I have not broken to much on it, very strong.... But will be trying some lighter skids this year, will have his skid on 174 or 163 rails for sale soon...

Why would you want your skid to drop a few inches sitting on a garage floor by pushing on rear bumper???Is that how the skid works when climbing a hill?
Turbo sleds need to have stiff skid set up or it's just gonna cat walk up the steep big hills.

On the trail my 174 racers edge is the smoothest skid I've ever had, even though its rock hard in garage

Good to know that it is as it should be. I'm not wearing all my gear nor is the sled loaded for bear when I tested it.

I sure liked the Yamaha I rode with this suspension but that was in the alpine and not on the trail.

Set it for your own liking then, I don't want it that stiff, that's why baker came out with the magnets, so you dont
have sag for climbing, but still a nice ride down the trail

my latest skid seams to still give
me what I had with bakers, but 15lbs loghter

How many of you are running the Elks shock? Should be most, and if you are running the Elka do you know what your spring is. Mine has a 450 marked on the end of it.

The 450 is the right spring
