Well today is one of the tuffest days of my life,I had to decide to let my father go,his health hasnt been very good for the last 6 months and yesterday he had a massive stroke and no chance of a decent recovery so at 1pm today his life will end,I dont really no why Im telling you all this but as I sit here alone I felt I had to say something and you are the only ones around,my father was a great man, very hard working[tree faller here on the west coast most of his life],he never rested till everything was done and his family was taken care of,he taught me to love the outdoors and respect nature and other people, always be polite and help those in need.We had are share off differences when I was younger but he never gave up on me which Im so thankfull for,he was always fair to me when we would go cut fence posts, shake blocks, firewood or haul hay he would always split the money down the middle even though he did most of the work.He was never into motorsports[dirtbiking, quadin or my car racing but always came to support me].He had a love for campin fishin workin and his family,we leaned on each other heavily when mom past away and it was very hard on him but tonight theyll be together again. He was a big man[6ft2 250 lbs of muscle as I can atest to by the few times he let me have it,well deserved on my part I might add,but his heart was twice as big as he was] who always stood up for the little guy, well its gettin hard to type threw the tears so I will end this now, thanks for listening and as of today the world and my world is loosing a geat man, going tom miss you DAD.

Thoughts are with you scrambled as you go through this difficult time. Your post has alot of love in it and you should be proud of what your father has instilled in you and that you'll carry on in his footsteps and be a caring, great man as he is.

Your friends at Snow and Mud are always here and sometimes it's easier to talk to stangers. There are so many peeps here that have gone through so many things that the support is always great for those going through difficult times.

Take care.

Your decision is one of the toughest one's a person will ever make in their life. Do know that your dad will be at peace and in a better place not suffering. I am in awe at your courage and strength. My thoughts a prayers are with you.

Wow... thats tough......

I do however know why you shared...... this interweb thing creates a strong bond, we all share things that I'm sure 5 years ago we'd deny would ever happen.

If there is anything you need, please ask....

Otherwise god bless, from my family to yours.....

I am sorry that you had to make one of the hardest decision in your life, and say Good bye to your father. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten by you and your family. God Bless

You made a courageous and beautiful decision. I pray that time will heal your wounds and that as time passes it will become easier to celebrate a life well lived than to mourn what has been lost. Peace and best wishes to you and yours.

Scrambled, Magnet and I are in tears for you. It brings back our losing my dad like it was yesterday. One of the hardest things we have ever went through. We will both pray for you and your family tonight. He is no longer in pain.
If you need anything, someone to talk to or anything at all, please pm me, we are here for you.

Cancer from cigarettes killed my father, it wasn't pretty and it was so painful for us. No matter how our parents pass, we wish it didn't have to happen.
These life events have a way of reshaping us all. Cherish all the love and good life lessons he passed on to you.

Sounds like your father was a man to be very proud of.

My dad said, just a few weeks before he passed... " Never forget this.... . ... be kind to everyone, never think you are better than another person, you have no right to judge others, and most importantlly, the only thing that matters is what's in your heart."

We are deeply saddened for you Scrambled.

Your post is testament to how great a man your Dad was. I'm sorry for your loss. Must have been a difficult decision but as someone else stated, He is in a better place and not suffering any more. He taught you well and is watching over you now.
