We were in silence on the weekend, in the back bowl heading to the furthermore back bowl just passed the burn saw a black stake with orange ribbon around it does anybody know what that means, did not say anything on it, have rode that area a lot and never seen it it looks like somebody just put it up.

U were most likely in caribou basin which is closed to motorized use....they drop right on that ridge at the back of Silent mountain

Hey everyone wondering if golden got any new snow since last week. In Revy now and things are pretty dry. Got 6" last night and was supposed to snow all day. Didn't happen.

Any word on silent pass lately might head there Sunday morning

Cell number is 204-923-0506, from MB but ride mountains quite a bit. Full safety gear, decent not great rider. Coming to Golden to ride 25, fish Susan Lake (or try?) 26th, ride 27th. 25th with the gf and will be tame. 27th she’s staying back and it’s just me. Looking to hook up with someone if possible. On either the 25 or 27, slow and safe on the 25th/less so 27th. PM me or text if anyone is able to help out. We both have 17s G4’s 850s. Mine a Summit 165x3, hers a Renegade 137x1.75

Not even sure if she’ll even make it up the first little climb to get to the lake but hopefully...our ride is all about the views and it’s pretty stunning in the Gorman area.

I'm a bit worried about the road and then if there is any snow?

Text me at 12049230506 sometime on Thursday and I’ll give you a report with some pics. The road might b tough but there’ll b lots of snow still. Was at Quartz yesterday and there was still a 6’ base where I probed in an open meadow. No pow, but lots of go anywhere snow.

Anyone have any updates on current condition of the road to Silent Pass? I'm heading to McMurdo in a week - have never been up there on the sled. Sled Golden trail condition page says that thin snow cover between 24-48km. Are we likely to run into significant snow free sections on the road in a week? Is staging likely to be much further up the valley? Any insight on what to expect with the early spring conditions is much appreciated.

Mcmurdo is closed by means of section 58 until April 31. It is actively patrolled, sledding in the area is at your own risk.

snow is melting quick. Be prepared for gravel on your sled. After the long weekend I’d image you’d be able to drive to snow without gravel. I’d be prepared to drive to 42km or farther.

Was at silent today trail is pretty much gone (big berm of snow on on the south
Sideto ride on)from the staging area to about km 35 after that there is no gravel all the way into silent
By next weekend probably able to drive up to at least km35
tree stumps and tops and random rocks starting to show through all over in silent pass

Thanks - appreciate the update. Seems like an early melt this year. Sounds like ideally the road opens up and we can drive further. I should clarify that we are going skiing not sledding...

Does the road get pretty muddy? Friend is driving an AWD smaller SUV pulling a single sled trailer.

Riley Suhan invitational race 32nd fastest hill climb time out of 80 riders not bad considering the talent I was racing also got this swag but I had to arm wrestle the guy for the clutch kit
