I'd smack Parker one if he treated me the way he does rick,

i dont agree with the way he treats his guys, but i totally understand the frustration due to running my own company. Parker is fronting 100's of thousands of dollars and he has a guy not performing the way he should plain and simple. I'm actually surprised he hold its together as well as he does for his age and experience. Must be the cameras.....lol

Until you run your own company (if you dont already) you would never guess how many people dont give a **** about the equipment, profitablity, client ect. zero ****s given, when at least some should be found. Ive had operators slam open all the windows on a brand new excavator, light a smoke and spill their drink all down the console so dust sticks to it. Cab looked like **** day one. Go and spend $500g+ on a machine and hold your tongue when you see that ****. Ive lost it many a time but at the end of the day the buck stops with me.

Some people just are not raised right..... no respect or decency... end rant

rick seems to be a good worker, number 1 if parkers grandpa didn't hand the mine down to him he'd be stocking shelves at Walmart, and number 2 it's alright when Parker does something wrong it's overlooked when it ain't him it's a big deal, and besides if a guy is trying and facks up, I give him credit better than the lazy bum at home, if I was working hard and Parker came at me like he does his crew camera or not I'd knock him out colder than a cucumber, and I highly doubt it's Parker fronting all that money, most likely discovery channel and Volvo equipment

Its all for tv drama, they sit back after the show and laugh and slam drinks back. Don't fool yourself, Rick didn't go out and dig a 50000 dollar trench without Parker knowing what he was doing.

When you pay the bills you dont have to answer for mistakes to anyone other then the bank. Parker has alot to learn but he will do well in the future as hes learning young and a trial by fire. I like his ambition. The show doesnt have him protected from complete failure but definitely helps make him profitable where others would not be. They talk alot about how much they make but rarely expenses. I've done the math on the equipment Fuel and labor for the season and it doesn't make sense. It's definitely not a windfall to go gold mining.

Parker doesnt need a good worker he needs a smart foreman. Which rick will get to one day as he is also learning the hard way as well but on Parkers dime.

Agreed 100%. Too many people aren't capable of taking care of a $10 shovel, never mind a piece of equipment worth hundreds of thousands. People also seem to think they their paycheck just comes out of thin air, and it doesn't matter if you get jobs done and need to actually get paid to pay employees. For anyone saying they would cold clock someone for talking to them like that, good luck with that. If you think like that, you'll never get anywhere. You need to control you temper. He definitely goes over board, but like said it's clearly for TV.

Considering he's only 23, that's pretty dahm good. And yea, the numbers sound huge, but so are expenses. To run what 4-5 hoes of that size just in fuel you'll be in the thousands a day. And guaranteed they are getting paid good money to be up there.

I'm actually working with 2 guys that worked for Parker this summer...they quit on him. They said money was crap and how he pays ot is shady too. Everything is staged for the show pretty much . All the iron is supplied, parts ect but that's why you see advertising logo s everywhere. And I ran into Brennan (Hoe hand) in revy and he said he has a tv contract so does the rest of the crew on camera I'm sure and not to be a spoiler but he did mention they got 6400 oz give or take...
